Lydecker is unsure Max is truely reprogramed.

For three days Lydecker watched her, still not completely confident in the PysOps procedures. Unable to get passed the wavering doubt in the back of his mind that Max was playing him for a fool.

Unit and formation drills, operation overviews, countless hours of training each day, Max had fallen back into the Manticore regiment without missing a step. But still she did not have Lydeckers trust.

"Sir?" Max stood stiffly in front her commander, her hands at her sides, her eyes dead ahead. Lydecker had pulled her out of a training session and into one of the many debriefing rooms. Lydecker remained silent, watching her intensely, looking for some final clue to put his mind at rest.

"How long have you been with Manticore, 452?" he asked.

"All my life Sir."? Max replied quickly without thinking. As far as she knew Manticore was her life.

"And what was your last mission?"

Max blinked twice, the question throwing her off. "I don't know," her brow furrowed as she tried to remember. "Sorry Sir, Medical informed me that I had suffered an injury during my last mission and some memory loss was to be expected."

Maybe he had been wrong, his worries unwarranted. Max?s responses were clean, quick and exactly what he wanted to hear, exactly what the reprogramming would have left her to believe. Still, he needed to make sure; he couldn't risk losing her again.

"Are you loyal to Manticore, solder," You would do anything to help your unit your family. You would obey all orders from superior officers?"

"Yes, of course Sir."

Lydecker's eyes wandered down her body, "Remove your uniform."
