Lucy's Second Date

When Mike found Lucy for their date, he was blown away by her.

"Wow, you look incredible," he said. Once he got closer to her, she couldn't resist anymore and pulled him into a kiss.

"Sorry. You just look really sexy in this suit," she said, making him chuckle.

"Thanks. You look really sexy too," he said, turning her cheeks bright red.

"Th-thanks. N-now, I'm sure you're wondering about all of this. Um, will you go to prom with me?" she asked, her pink eyes looking at him with shinning hope. He was confused, but there was no way he could say no.

"Of course," he said with a smile. Her face lit up before she turned away to open a nearby door.

Going through the door, they were transported into a beautiful ballroom filled with other high schoolers. None of them were real of course, but it felt real.

"Wow. You are really creative when it comes to these dates," he said, earning a blush and smile.

"I really wanted to ask you to the real prom, but I was too scared. In the end, I decided to settle with a dance, but you weren't there," she said.

"I was at Gabby's prom, so I missed this," he said. She took his hands and looked him in the eyes. She was nervous, but trying to fight through it.

"I know there's still a wall between us, but I really do love you, Mike. Please, just give me a chance," she begged him. Instead of answering her, he cupped her cheek.

"Will you dance with me," he asked. Lucy practically melted at the offer.

The two glided across the dance floor with a beautiful waltz.

"Wow. I read that Gabby taught you to dance, but I never imagined you'd be this good," she said in awe. Mike spun her before pulling her close.

"Lucy, can you do me a favor?" he asked her.

"Anything for you my love," she said before realizing what she said and blushed.

"Stop reading the books. Get to know me the normal way," he said. There was a clear hesitation in her eyes.

"It's not that simple. What I feel for you is the type of love you can only develop over a long time of being together. The idea of feeling like this and not knowing everything about you is scary to me," she said. Much to her surprise, he dipped her.

"I understand, but I want us to get closer the regular way. Maybe one day, I'll feel the same about you," he said. Her eyes widened as she wrapped her arms around him and looked him in the eyes.

"Do you want that?" she asked him.

"I'm not in love you, not yet at least. But, I think I'm starting to fall for you, the real you. It'll take me time, and I don't know if I can ever love anyone as much as I love Gabby, but I'll try. Just give me some more time," he said.

This was enough for Lucy. A chance.

"Take all the time you need. I promise, I'll never stop loving you," she said before pulling him into another kiss.
