Lois Wants To Go Back Into The Pool

Lois turned back to the pool. The pink glow seemed much more subdued than a moment ago.

"I've got to go back. Maybe if I take another dunk, it can fix this, undo it..."

Blaze's hand gripped the reporter's upper left arm.

"That's...not a good idea. If this thing works like I think it does, it doesn't work twice...and if it doesn't work like that, there's no telling what it might do to you. You might not survive...or come out as a true monster."

The reporter turned back. There was something so different about Angelica Blaze's face right then, an eagerness around the eyes, a dark purple blush across the cheeks.

"Besides, you don't need to be 'fixed.'" she said. "You're perfect."

The reporter stared at the pool. The glow had sunken down to a ruddy glare, much darker than before, which threw pale pink shadows on the wall.

"Yes," she said. "I do."
