Chapter 4

Life with the felines
As they made their way towards the Jetaur Monsa, Alex couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. He had been stuck on this space station for far too long, and although crewing on a Caitian freighter came with its own set of risks, at least it offered him a chance for adventure - something he desperately craved after months of monotony.
The moment they stepped onto the ship, Alex could sense the hum of technology that filled every corner. It reminded him why he loved being an engineer; there was always something new to discover or fix. The captain led him through narrow corridors lined with various control panels and machinery until they reached the engine room.
Alex took one look around and immediately got to work inspecting the plasma conducts that needed replacing. His fingers danced over the controls as he began dismantling the old ones, his mind already racing ahead to find the best possible solutions for upgrading them. Meanwhile, Captain Mr'osin watched in admiration from afar, impressed by the human's dedication and skill.
Once all four new conducts were installed, Alex moved on to checking the coolant system next. As he worked diligently, sweat trickled down his forehead, staining his shirt. But despite the physical exertion, he felt alive like never before. This was what he lived for – solving problems, making things run smoothly, and contributing to the success of this crew.
As night fell upon Jetaur Monsa, a strange energy seemed to envelop everything. A soft glow emanated from somewhere deep within the ship, drawing everyone towards it. Curiosity piqued, Alex followed suit, leaving behind the familiar hum of engines and stepping into an entirely different world. The air filled with the scent of spring flowers, golden light beamed down onto him, and faint music could be heard from some unseen source. It was then that he noticed the sexy Caitian mate standing there watching him work.
As days turned into weeks aboard the Caitian freighter, Alex found himself growing closer to the diverse crew members. They were all so unique - each bringing their own set of skills and stories to share around the dinner table. There was Zara, a fierce female Caitian who had once piloted her own ship through a treacherous asteroid field; Jaxon, the laid-back navigator whose sense of humor always managed to lift spirits during long shifts; and Captain Mr'osin, an experienced leader with wisdom etched deep within his eyes.
One evening after dinner, while sitting by the starboard window, Alex struck up a conversation with Kaela, the quiet yet observant medic shared tales from his past – about saving lives amidst war-zones and treating injuries sustained during daring space missions. These experiences left him awestruck at how resilient the cat folk could be when faced with adversity.
As the night wore on, laughter filled the air as everyone exchanged jokes and memories. It felt like one big family, united in their pursuit for adventure across the cosmos. Jaxon invited Alex back to cabin for a nigh cap, and once there the Caitian soon had the human pinned to the wall. As they share a ferocious kiss, that left Alex's knees feeling weak even as that long feline tail wrapped around his leg. The room spun slightly but he didn’t mind - this was life beyond anything he ever imagined! And it only got better from here…
