Sasha was now out on the dance floor dancing with Christine and Laura when she saw Patrick and Mallory walking into the house. They were holding hands, so it looked like they were now a couple or at least things were heading that way. She shook her head so that she could get rid of all of her angry thoughts. “Looks like Patrick and Mallory are on a date.” Laura said to her two friends and of course Sasha’s friends were going to be talking about it.

“Sounds good. I am trying to do better with socializing and stuff like that this year, so I feel that dancing and going to parties are good ways to do that.” Sasha said.

“That is true. It’s not like you aren’t popular anyway, but it would help if you put yourself out there a little more. Maybe be more like that girl who is the co-captain of the cheer squad.” Chad said and Sasha nodded.

Sasha knew that when it came to cheering and dancing she let loose a bit more than she did in her normal, everyday life. This could be the beginning of that for her. She would see how tonight went and then she would see if it is something that she would want to continue to do.

“So, Christine was talking about it on the way over here. Something about a key party.” Sasha asked, curious to see if Chad would tell her anything.

“Yeah, I know not everyone will enter the fun, but I thought it would be something fun to do for the people who were willing to try it. Are you planning on joining in?” Chad asked, hoping that Sasha was going to join in.

“I don’t know yet. I have thought about it, but I don’t know if it is for me.” Sasha said.

“No pressure. I will let everyone know when the picking starts. Just let me know before then.” Chad said and Sasha nodded.

“Thanks. I will be sure to let you know as soon as I know which way I want to go.” Sasha said and Chad nodded.

“So, are you ready to head back in?” Chad asked and Sasha looked at him and smiled and the two of them started to walk back into the house.

The two of them walked straight to the dance floor and started to dance. It was a fast song that was on, so Chad put his hands on Sasha’s hips and while Sasha put her hands on Chad’s shoulders and they started to move to the music. Now is the time for the fun to begin. I am sure that some of you have already heard, but there will be a key party going on here tonight. You are not required to enter, but if you want to come up here and drop your keys off, the drawing will happen soon.” Chad said as everyone started to cheer.

Sasha had thought about it for most of the night and she was going to do this. “I just don’t get why you would want to do this. It’s not you.” Mallory said.

“I am just doing what mom told me to do. She told me to put myself out there this year and that is what I am planning on doing.” Sasha said and Mallory could hear her friend’s voice change to one showing a bit of anger, but she wasn’t going to give up until she got Sasha to drop out of the key party.

“I don’t think that is what your mom meant. She just wanted you to do more things like coming to this party and things like that. I don’t think she meant to go and have sex with some random guy.” Mallory said.

“How would you know? You weren’t there.” Sasha asked, getting madder than she already was.

“I know your mom and I know she wouldn’t want you to do this.” Mallory said.

“You don’t know anything. If you aren’t going to support my decisions, will you just leave me alone.” Sasha said and Mallory could tell that there was no way of changing her friend’s mind, so she got up and shook her head and left Sasha alone like she wanted her to.

Soon the drawing started. Sasha watched anxiously as people were being picked. Soon enough, Sasha saw her keys get picked up by Chad and he asked who the keys belonged to so she got up and walked to the front of the room like all the other people before her had. Chad went into the boy's bucket and picked up a pair of keys as well.

“Well, would you look at that. Looks like I am the lucky one tonight. I will be with Sasha.” Chad said as he smiled over at her.

Sasha nodded and smiled back at him as she went to stand over at the side of the room and wait for him to finish up with the rest of the keys.
