Lethal Blows

Helena decided to immobilize the Wights to allow the other woman to escape, and ensure she could deal with them without issue. So, she swung her sword horizontally, a gust of wind emerging and knocking the Wights off of their feet. Then, she swung her downwards, a blast of wind crashing down on the Wights and pinning them to the ground.

Intending to make this quick, Helena stepped up and stabbed each through the heart.

The Wights went still one by one, and Helena deactivated her wind magic. Only for the Wights to shoot up and grab at her, Helena realizing that due to these enemies being undead they couldn’t die from being stabbed through the heart. They had only pretended to die so she would lower her guard.

Cursing her poor planning, Helena slashed one of the arms that was grabbing onto her, but the hand still had a deathgrip on her even after being removed from the arm it was attached to. The spot on her ankle it clung to felt like it was growing colder, Helena realizing that some of her life **** was being drained.

A swing of her sword and an accompanying gust of wind knocked another Wight away, but the third managed to get close enough to bite down on Helena’s free ankle. She winced, and felt her leg going numb. Some sort of paralytic magic had infected her due to the bite.

Another couple slashes, one through the arm and the other through the air, knocked the Wight away. She also slashed down, cutting the fingers from the hands that clung to her, ensuring they finally fell off.

But while her gaze was turned downwards, one of the Wights she had knocked away earlier snuck up behind her and pounced.

This one managed to bite down on her neck, and Helena felt her whole body go limp.

She fell to the ground, surrounded by the three Wights. Could she find some way to avoid this in time?
