Let's sit with Eva

Taking my seat next to Eva on the bench she was resting on, I nudged her side in a friendly manner.

"You good?"
"Great. Tonight's going great."

She's looking up at the stars, taking in the natural beauty of the place.
"I'm lucky to have you as my date."
"I have no idea how everyone found out... But I've been left alone so far, which is great." She shared with me.
"I know it makes you feel weird whenever people give you too much attention."
"It's not about attention... It's about these pervs imagining that they are owed something more if I reply to them."
"You're too pretty for normal, honest interaction." I point out.
"Yeah thanks. I just wish that they'd take the time to get to know me first, you know. I'm not simply a pretty body." She said, emotive.
"I get you. It's annoying for sure."

The calm of the night surrounding us, broken in intervals by the party raging inside, carried with it a sense of comfort. We basked in it for a moment.
"What about you? Any odd suitor?"
"Other than the charming guy who was trying to undress me in the middle of the dance floor, no."
"What an ass!" She emoted, remembering him.

I laughed.
"Thanks for saving me."
"That was my promise with this date, wasn't it?
"Was it the only reason for this date?" I asked, hopefully looking at her and waiting for her reaction.

She looked at me, her eyes meeting mine.
