"Hello," she said pleasantly. "You must be the maintenance man."

"I am," said the skinny, mustachioed man she let in.

"How was the weather this afternoon?" Madison asked him.

Erica had told them about the maintenance dialogue. There was a specific conversation encoded into her script that she followed before allowing the technician to work on her. If he varied from it by even a syllable she would politely ask him to leave and call security if he refused.

"It rained cats and dogs," he told her. "I understand you've recently had a trip to Portugal."

"Yes, I have." She stood against the wall. "It's a lovely place."

"I'd love to go someday," the tech said, and the golem nodded meaningfully. She began to strip as he pulled out a small tablet and tapped at it. When she was fully nude, he started combing through her hair.

"Looking for signs of damage," Erica told them. "The physical exams are quite thorough."

Ross shifted uncomfortably as the stranger methodically examined every inch of Madison's body. She stood expressionlessly as he spread her legs and put a finger inside of her. His face took on a look of surprise for a moment and he stood.

"Professor, have you engaged in sexual relations recently?"

Erica shushed him. "Keep watching. It won't necessarily arouse suspicion."

"I have not," Madison responded flatly. The tech just smirked and continued his evaluation. When he had finished, he began to ask her questions.

"Professor Hill, are you a golem?"

"Of course not!" she replied, and he tapped the slate.

"Where do you live?"

"I have a townhouse in midtown."

"Do you enjoy your work?"

"Oh yes, I love teaching."

They went on like that for some time. Her responses seemed to satisfy the technician; he never appeared suspicious and he never had followup questions. Finally, he set down his tablet and touched her forehead.

"Moment of truth," Andrew said as the script fluttered out of her mouth. The technician opened his valise and took out a small rectangular device that he attached to his tablet via a short cable. He inserted the script into it and tapped at the tablet, then set them both on the desk. Turning to the collapsed golem, he inserted a script into its mouth and activated it.

Madison rose to her feet and stared at him. "Tyler?"

He grinned and unzipped his fly. "You know it. I bet the head of the department's been having fun with you."

"What the fuck is he doing to her?" he demanded. "Is this part of the test?"

"Not exactly," Erica explained. "It's an open secret that certain techs take unfair advantage of their position. He probably uses that script on any reasonably attractive female golem he services. While the analyzer is verifying her official script, he puts a basic sex script in her that allows-"

Andrew turned to see the study room door swinging shut.
