Leonard Miller - 37 - IT Geek

It was a humdrum hump day at the office. The downtown building was high up in the air, which gave most of the office a nice view of the city. Unfortunately one room was cut off from sunlight, for good reason. The server room was only lit by florescent lights and the LED dots across the machines housing the entire company's data. This highly **** area was monitored closely by one sole individual this morning.

Leonard Miller was the only IT member of this department that showed up for work today. Figures, as his cohorts weren't as tech savvy as him. Leonard took his job seriously, very seriously, and often felt frustrated with some of the issues he had to help this company with. Too many times did someone waste him time trying to figure out email settings, reset internet modems, and worst of all, reminding people the computer has to be plugged in to work! It wasn't a terrible job, as he did take home good money, he just felt he was too smart to still be where he was in life.

At 37 he was getting fatter, and the binging of food and Netflix off work was making sure it continued. With no family, or even a girlfriend, the extra money allowed him to buy himself any games, computer parts, or any other things he desired. Most of the office knew him as a geek, into video games and anime. While the office had a variety of people, he never found anyone to really talk with. Maybe it was his reputation for having a short fuse, or maybe it was his lack of confidence.

He found himself in the server room working off a laptop. The day had just begun, yet he was already in a bad mood. He was browsing his emails waiting for a request, but surprisingly enough the day was going off with out a hitch. Alone in the room, he could sneak out his cell phone to watch online clips to pass some time.

There seemed to be an notification, from an unknown number.

"Hello, you have been selected for the private beta of the Role ReWriter. This phenomenal new app will help you change the world to what you see fit."

"The what now?"

Leonard wanted to write it off as spam, or a prank, but there was something compelling him to look into this. He opened the internet browser on his phone and searched, but couldn't find any information on this or the company sending it, MetaCorp. He figured he protected his phone and information enough to take the risk. He tapped the link inside the message, and his phone immediately jumped to the main screen. Usually to get an app it would take him to the store and confirm a download, but that wasn't the case this time. Now, a new app icon appeared his home screen. After tapping it, he was given a menu, with 5 buttons and a brief description of each.

Something in him was strangely fascinated by the app, after tapping assign, he was prompted to pick a subject. A thing or person, by either using the search bar, or snapping a picture of them directly. Well, he didn't think he could blatantly get a photo of someone, so he tapped the search. But who would he try to give a new Role Assignment to?
