Chapter 18 by perv-senpai perv-senpai

Leaving Radiant Garden

The walk back from the Reactor Core was silent, but it was the silence of a temple after a high ritual.

We had retrieved our clothes, but none of the women bothered to button them fully. Tifa wore her tank top loose, the drying fluids on her chest acting as a badge of honor. Aerith’s dress hung softly on her frame, her movements languid and floaty. Yuffie had wrapped herself in my coat again, looking like a satisfied child wearing a blanket.

We reached the Castle Chapel, the room with the mural of the Princesses of Heart. This was where the world's Keyhole resided.

I stopped in the center of the room. The mural pulsed with a faint light.

"The computer is fixed," I said, my voice echoing in the stone chamber. "The defense grid is active. But a world isn't safe until its heart is locked."

I turned to them. They stood in a semi-circle, watching me with eyes that held a new kind of reverence. They weren't just looking at a hero anymore; they were looking at their owner.

"You three are the pillars of this world," I continued. "The Mage. The Fighter. The Ninja. You hold the physical and magical defense."

I summoned The Solar Zenith. The Keyblade materialized in a flash of gold and black light.

"But I hold the connection."

I pointed the Keyblade at the mural. A beam of light shot out, striking the hidden Keyhole. A loud click resonated through the castle, followed by the sound of heavy tumblers locking into place. The world groaned, a deep, satisfied sound of stability returning.

Radiant Garden was sealed.

I lowered the blade and looked at them.

"It is done. The Heartless cannot breach the core again."

Aerith stepped forward. She took my free hand and kissed the knuckles, her lips soft against my coarse skin.

"You restored the light," she whispered. "And you restored us. We were... drifting. Trying to do too much. You gave us focus."

"I gave you a Master," I corrected.

"Yes," Tifa agreed, stepping up to kiss my cheek. She smelled of musk and Mako. "We know who we fight for now. Not just for the town. For you."

Yuffie popped out from behind them, grinning. "And hey, if the grid goes down again... or if you just get bored... you know where to find us. We've got the 'Human Circuit' down pat now."

I smirked, ruffling her hair.

"Keep training, Yuffie. Next time, I won't go easy on you."

"Promise?" she beamed.

I walked to the balcony where the Highwind was docked. The engines were humming, ready for departure. The stars above were waiting.

I turned back one last time. They stood framed by the castle archway, three beautiful, powerful women, disheveled, marked, and utterly conquered. They didn't look sad; they looked empowered. They had found their place in the hierarchy, and it gave them strength.

"Hold the fort," I commanded.

"Always, Master," they replied in unison.

I boarded the ship. The canopy closed, sealing me in the quiet cockpit.

I sat in the pilot's chair and pulled up the Gummi Ship manifest. A new entry flashed on the screen:

New Link Established: Radiant Garden. Summon Acquired: The Committee (Tri-Attack). Keyblade Upgrade: Excessive **** (Strength +5).

I leaned back, watching the world shrink below me as the thrusters fired. The balance was shifting. The darkness was being brought to heel, not by destroying it, but by mastering it.

I looked at the star map. The paths were open.
