Lauren works and struggles

For the next few hours Lauren worked. She was grateful to be hidden somewhat by the desk and the office walls, but this was work Lauren normally made Jennifer do. As much as it pained her to admit it, Lauren was totally reliant on her former assistant and could hardly file a document, let alone do all the involved paperwork in front of her.

So after hours of struggling Lauren had hardly made a dent. Jennifer came out and shook her head at Lauren's lack of progress.

"That's it!" Jennifer said, exasperated. "I'm going to get an intern in here to do this. Even an unpaid student would be more useful!"

"But... what about me?" Lauren asked, dreading the answer...
