Chapter 45 by Forcy Forcy

Laurel shares some important information

"Alright Laurel," You said with a nod. "I am going to ask you a few questions and I need you to be honest, since our safety could be at stake if you aren't. First of all, were telling the truth when you surrendered to Lieutenant Mills and said that you were part of a gang that would come looking for you if they didn't hear from you?"

"Well..." The Latina you found so attractive said slowly, "Yes and no. Technically, I was being honest when I said that I was a member of a gang. But, quite frankly, our gang leader would rather let me die if he could avoid being blamed for my ****," She explained with a scowl. "So, aside from my sister and probably my ex-girlfriend, no one else would bother come looking for me. That manipulative tyrant, Carlos, would probably declare that they can't afford a rescue mission and leave it at that."

You blinked rapidly at that processing the information with an intentionally blank face, all the while feeling silently thrilled at the revelation that she was already naturally attracted to women even if things didn't work out with her previous girlfriend. And after a quick glance at Garcia's growing smirk, you realized that you were not the only one.

"I see," You ended up saying. "Well, I am sorry to hear that your former leader is so uncaring with the lives of those under his care. And I certainly hope you enjoy your stay with us a lot more. But now I can't help but wonder, why did you decided to ambush the commander of my personal guard?"

Laurel looked at your second-in-command with guilt in her eyes. "Honestly? I wanted her sniper rifle and an armored military vehicle so that I could head back to my old gang's stronghold, kill Carlos from afar and rescue my sister and my ex before fleeing to the coast. Sorry about that, I guess I didn't think it through all that well in the heat of the moment. Not to mention I definitely had no right to do that."

"Hmph," LT Mills scoffed. "You can say that again. Starting by the fact that you wouldn't have known how to drive that Stryker by yourself. But I suppose I can understand it a bit more if you were both **** and unaware that you were also our owner's property at the time. Honest mistakes happen, after all."

You suppressed the urge to chuckle at Laurel's look of relief at your good lieutenant's words before continuing with your interrogation.

"And were you alone when you stumble onto us while scavenging for supplies?" You pressed.

"No, Master," She responded without hesitation. "I was with my ex until we split up about 15 minutes before you captured me. We had to split up after stumbling into a horde but we agreed to regroup in the small park further down the street from this block. That's why I was on my way here when I came across your group and made that ignorant decision."

You scratched your chin at that, thinking. "Forgive me for asking this, but are you sure your ex-cares enough about you to find you again instead of returning to your base and leaving you for dead? Break ups can be messy, after all.

Laurel looked sad and frustrated at your question but soon nodded with conviction in her gaze. "I am sure, my Master. We broke up because we cared about each other, not the other way around."

You raised an eyebrow right then and there but decided to ask her for details about that later, since a plan was starting to formulate on your head. "But would you want to get her back if both of you were in a safer environment?" You asked softly.

Laurel closed her eyes on reflex when you asked that and bit her bottom lip for a moment. But when she opened them again, her voice did not waver.

"More than anything other than to rescue my sister from my former gang leader, Master," She assured him.

And you didn't have to stare long into her beautiful, almond-brown eyes to realize that you believed her.

So, after asking her details about how her ex-girlfriend looked like, you nodded to yourself as determination filled your being. "Lieutenant," You said loudly.

The seasoned soldier stood at attention immediately. "Yes, sir?"

"Get me Sergeant Foreman on the radio," You ordered. "And then, I want all of you to go back to the lower floor and carry as much propane, gasoline, and diesel containers as will still fit inside the Stryker. After that, I want you ready and alert by my side. Double time!"

They did not hesitate to follow your orders, even Amelia and your newest conquest, as they hurried to follow Garcia to the lower floor. Mills gave you the radio once everything was set and beamed at you with a wide smile. She remained silent, but that was when you knew that the romantic lesbian shipper inside your Lieutenant figured out your plan and was quickly expressing her approval.

Then she turned back and headed downstairs to offer another pair of hands to her group.

You watched her go before looking down at radio in your hands and shook your head to focus. You had a plan to execute and lives to save. And besides, if you were going to claim Laurel, the least you could do is make her way happier and better cared for than she was before. So, with that thought in mind, you started speaking into the radio.

"Sergeant Foreman, this is your owner speaking, over?" You called out.

You only had to wait a handful of seconds for her reply. "Sir, this is Foreman. What can I do for you, over?"

"Do you still have one of those solar powered-drones in the air, near the classified military cache where we are at?"

"Yes, sir!" She responded enthusiastically. "My own, actually. It's around 3-5 minutes from you, sir, over."

"Excellent," You said, pleased with the information. "Now please pay attention, for I have a new mission for you while the others continue with their search for Natasha with the rest of the drones. I need you to..."

A/N: I hope you enjoyed it and if so please review.
