Cold / Metal

Jade... what a beautiful name.... what a beautiful woman... Rupert could spend hours just staring at her as she took coffee orders in her barista uniform of three distinct and clashing colours. She had short black hair with emerald highlights that matched her lipstick, and silver piercings in her ears, nose and lower lips. Her face was perpetually frozen in that perfect crossroad between boredom, condescension and anger that made her look clever, and really cool.

Score! His double macchiato was finished! Time for a refill!
Rupert walked up to the counter where Jade was and leaned on the counter, "Why hello there? Mind if I get a refill?"
"Certainly sir, just a moment..." without changing her bored expression Jade took the paper cup and turned around to operate the machine.
Rupert was discussing a game called Fate/League of Order with Jade but she was being cold and not interested.

Ruperted wanted to warm up to her by showing up at the festival where her metal band, Weeping Lobotomy, performed tomorrow evening. Rupert arrived but he didn't fit in amongst the metal head and was scared, intimidated and generally uncomfortable amongst the sea of makeup, leather and metal studs, so he left before Weeping Lobotomy could get on stage. Out in the parking lot Rupert thought about how embarrassing it would have been if Jade found out Rupert left, but she is indeed in the parking lot straddling her motorcycle. As it turns out their drummer threw a hissy fit because he had an argument with his girlfriend and refused to get on stage.
Jade understood this wasn't Rupert's scene and said it was cool that he showed up anyway, and offered him a lift to his place, which he accepted. He sat behind Jade on the moped and wrapped around her waist tight as they drove away with a roar.

They both realized this was the start of something rare and beautiful.
