Pirson / Fear
"Yeah hello?" The rotund balding man said as he picked up the phone.
"Phil! You gotta help me! I don't know what's going on but someone messed up big time!"
"Who's talking? Calm down for a moment and start making sense!"
"All right... fine... it's me. It's Cecil. Cecil Milton."
"Ah! Cecil! How's my favourite lady doing?"
"Favourite... NO! God damnit! I'm a dude! A male! A gentleman!"
"Hey, hey now! Don't get your panties in a knot! Listen, okay. How could I've known it'd turn out to be such a sore spot. Anyone could've made that mistake, all right?"
"...that's exactly the problem! Someone did make that mistake when they sent me here... to a womens' penitentiary! I'm the only man here, and I'm not allowed to leave!"
"Huh? Oh, how embarrassing, on your part and mine. Must be a simple clerical error. Don't you worry, Cecil. We'll have this all sorted out in..." Phil flipped through some pages, "...a mere four months!"
"...four months? I'm only gonna be here for two weeks."
"Two weeks? For embezzling shareholder funds? Why, you must have the damn best lawyer money can buy!"
"Yeah... that's what he keeps telling me."
"That's right he does! And that's because it's completely true. And now he's telling you to sit tight, keep your hands in your pocket and sit this one out. It could've been a lot worse, my friend. It could've been a lot worse."
Cecil hung up the landline phone attached to the wall. He was right of course, it could have been worse. It could also be much better, since Cecil didn't actually embezzle anyone. He struck a deal with Mr Carson, his mentor and hero. Sure he engaged in some questionable affairs behind closed doors, who didn't, but when Cecil was down on his luck and couldn't get hired even if his life was on the line, who was there to pick him up off the streets and offer him a cushy office job at Carson's Tech Firm? Peter Carson... that's who. So when Mr Carson patted Cecil on his shoulder and asked him to take the bullet for the team, Cecil didn't wait between two breaths to give his answer. That was Mr Carson's big plan, to run his company to the ground and make a fortune out of the smoldering remains. And while the authorities make themselves busy examining the number one suspect standing out like a sore thumb in this deal, Carson and his closest would have ample time covering their own tracks.
Cecil wasn't a fool though. He still had a deal with Carson, he was still gonna pay handsomely for ruining his one life. An amazing retirement package awaited Cecil when his sentence was up, and his niece would get a scholarship to Yale. To round it all up mr Carson gave his word that his sentence would not be grave.
In his words, he would get the best lawyer money could buy.
All Cecil had to do was last two weeks in prison. That was something he could do. Even if it was a womens' prison.
"All right, that's your five minutes. Time to get to your cell" The woman in blue uniform who stood behind Cecil during his phone call said. He had already changed into his orange jumpsuit and was yet to meet his new home for the next two weeks.
The incarcerated women who were just minding their own business all perked up when they heard the doors open, and when they saw the gender of the one walking between them their faces glued up towards the bars, their eyes following Cecil's every step.
Cecil wasn't used to this kind of attention. In high school he stuck mostly to himself or his clique of nerds. He wasn't bad looking, but lacked that confidence that the girls in his school seemed so drawn to in his classmates.
But now all eyes fell on him as the only man these women had seen in months or even years. Whispers were exchanged between the inmates. Cecil couldn't hear what they were saying even though the whispers had to pass him to get to the recipient in the cell opposite theirs. Probably because Cecil made an effort not to listen.
The guard pushed her key into the lock of the cell and pulled the door open for Cecil, "Here's your cell, Mr Milton. I'm stuffing you with Vivky."
The short woman with long, slender legs and brown hair in pigtails was lying on the top bunk, her blue eyes occasinally darting away from the book propped against her hands and resting on her chest, to meet Ceci'l gaze.
"Hey! While we're young, big boy! Get moving!"
Cecil almost jumped into the cell before the door closed. When the guard walked away Vicky put away her book, sat down on her top bunk in lotus position and took in the sight of Cecil with a long good look.
"Sup?" Cecil said just to break the silence. Vicky didn't answer. She simply jumped off from her bunk-bed with cat-like agility and moved towards him. She was at least two heads shorter than him and built like a stick-figure, but something in the way she boldly strutted towards him made him back away instinctively. His back was pressed against the bars, then her palm slammed into them, right next to his head.
"So... think you got pretty lucky huh? Dude getting sent to womens' prison? Well let me tell you, boy; no matter what joint you could possibly be sent to, I'm the worst bitch you could possibly have run into. You get me boy?"
Cecil was shivering in his boots. Too terrified to speak... too terrified to look into her eyes, he looked over his shoulders, and was surprised to see the women who had been eyeing him showing now not the faintest sign of interest in what was going on in his cell. Vicky grabbed him by his lapel and slammed him against the bars once again before pulling him by his collar to her level, "You're listening boy?"
"Y-yes! Yes I'm listening!"
"Sssh-shh... keep it down, okay. I'm not gonna hurt you, but for your own good you're gonna have to follow some basic rules. First of all, for as long as you're here you're gonna be my little bitch. Okay? You're gonna do anything I say when I say it. If I tell you to jump you don't ask why, you ask how high."
"Y-yes Vicky..."
"Call me boss."
"Y-yes boss..:"
"Now... you're gonna have to clean up your shit after yourself. And no touching my stuff, well except when you're cleanin my shit. You understand where we are standing?"
"Yes boss.."
Vicky patted Cecil on the cheek, "Good boy. See, that's not so hard. I'm not a bad girl. I'm sure we'll learn to become the best of friends."
Vicky jumped back on to her bed and continued reading. Cecil laid down on the bunk under hers. He was given a thin sheet made from some kind of paper-like material to act as his blanket which he wrapped himself in. There was no way in hell he was going to get a blink of sleep that night.
Although the lights were off he could make out in the light of the small window in the upper corner the toilet he shared with his cell-mate.
...crap.
Eventually Cecil did get some sleep, and woke up in the morning reinvigorated.
After inspection passed, Cecil was served breakfast in the cafeteria. Oatmeal they called it, but it was mostly water. After being served his one portion, Cecil was looking over the cafeteria for an empty seat, but found none. Vicky had already seated herself by her gang.
"Yo!" a petite woman with long black hair waved towards him. The only other ones at the table were a curvy red-haired woman with a cheshire smile and a busty woman with a ponytail, "Get yer ass down here! You're not gonna eat on the floor are you?"
"Hahaha! Like a dog!"
Cecil sat himself down and looked around, "Woof woof." He said dryly and chuckled to himself.
The girls chuckled between themselves, "It's really true isn't it? That you're a guy?"
Cecil stared at the red-headed girl, "Last I checked."
"Wanna... you know... prove it?"
Cecil almost choked on his oatmeal.
"Annie! Don't be rude! He's the only guy for... well, centuries I guess, and you're gonna scare him off."
"If he doesn't like it he can just leave..." The red-haired one leaned her chin on her palm as she leaned her elbow on the table, "All he gotta do is scale the walls, jump over the barbed wire and run away from the guards and dogs." Annie gave a coarse laugh.
The dark-haired girl pulled on the red hair, "Eeek!"
"So what you in for?"
"White collar crime." Cecil felt comfortable sparing the humiliation and the time of going over the details, "What about you?"
"Oh, nothing as fancy as that. You know, ****."
Cecil's spoon remained in his mouth for a long time. As long as he kept it in there he didn't have to respond.
The dark-haired girl flipped her hair out of her face and sighed, "No, I didn't grab a wealthy CEO and demand a ransom. Just didn't feel like losing my kid. Not to that asshole I once called husband."
"...huh."
"Prostitution." The blonde said and nummed on the spoon from the tip.
"Me too... but from the other side of the register so to speak."
Cecil blunk, "Then were you...?"
"Damn right! We were on the same case so to speak!" The red haired girl said proudly.
"Still keeping tabs on our business, even while we're here!" The blonde responded.
Cecil figured they were gonna be here for a long time.
"Honestly. I was sorta expecting everyone here to be just like Vicky... but I'm glad you're not."
The girls shared stares. Finally the dark-haired girl spoke, "Vicky is... be nice to her, you know. And don't judge her too harshly."
"Come again?"
"Her husband was apparently more of a coward and an asshole than mine. Jealous too, which is especially harsh considering she worked as a dominatrix. She finally got the guts to divorce his ass, but when it came to the kids he just downright accused her of prostitution. And it stuck. And she was sentenced to prison as a result. I think while she was here she started realizing why she went into the business to begin with... and she might have gotten too excited to get started again when you showed up. She's... not really like that"
Cecil looked down into his oatmeal. It looked like he had been given a lot to think about.
Soon enough the prisoners were let out into the yard. He was the only guy in the entire prison... and yet he was still picked last for the teams. It's not like he was the most athletic guy, but they really thought he was weaker than every single girl?
When he was passed the ball he found his answer; exactly all of the other team members ran up close and personal to him and tried to block his movement. Cecil tried to lob it over the girls. They tackled him to the ground and all landed on top of him in a dogpile.
"Guaah!!" Cecil cried.
"All right, break it up everyone!" at the command of the opposing team's captain all the girls rose up and scattered. Of course it was Vicky. She extended her hand towards Cecil.
"You all right?"
"I'm... I'm fine. Just a bit of air knocked out of my lungs."
"You took that tackle well for a light guy." Vicky threw the ball back towards Cecil, "But I don't remember asking you to stop calling me boss."
"Sorry boss." Cecil chuckled.
The game resumed.
Eventually Vicky's team won with four against two.
Two weeks had passed, and so Cecil became a free man. He walked out of the prison gate with his normal clothes and belongings, and took the bus back home to his apartment in West.
Some of the girls were pretty cool, but he had just about enough of them making their move on him. He flomped on to the couch and opened up his laptop.
Damn... he is so used to just saving all of the tabs on his browser, but it seems the computer didn't like being in power saving mode for two weeks. Will he even be able to locate all of his favourite porn material again?
It doesn't matter. The guys at the erotica forums were gonna freak out when he told them about his adventures; two weeks surrounded by lonely women.
He opened the new thread and clicked the big text box. His fingers hovered over his keyboard but they didn't type anything out. He couldn't find anything he wanted to type, at least anything he wanted to share with these pervs. Cecil closed his laptop and looked up at the ceiling fan.
"You got a visitor Vicky!" The guard said and escorted her to the visitation room. Strange, she hadn't had a visitor for months. Not that it wasn't welcome, it had been two weeks since her little pet strutted away home, and she really missed that connection.
She took a seat opposite the reinforced window and picked up the phone. She couldn't believe it; it was him!
"Ah... you... you come to lord your freedom over me now? Seriously you don't got anything better..."
Cecil picked a card from his pocket and put it on the counter before him. 'Phil Fawlker Autorney At Law" it said.
"When you get out from here, contact this guy. He's a bit... rough on the edges, but if anyone can get your kid back, it's him." Cecil slid the card under the glass and Vicky picked it up, "The best lawyer money can buy... or so I've been told."
"...who told you?"
"Look, you want my help or not? That's all that matters now."
"I... I can't afford any bigshots."
"Don't worry, I got you covered. Someone owes me big time. He's... a real bigshot."
Vicky took a long look at the card, "Why are you helping me? I pretty much treated you like a dog for the entire two weeks. Don't tell me you're into that!"
Cecil shook his head"Honestly, I'm not sure... I kinda just wanted to leave this part of my life behind me the moment I stepped out, but... someone once gave me a second chance when I was out of recourse. Someone who I now understand was using me, but... I can't forget the feeling of being given a second chance. Don't think I can ever go back to being the one who only looks out for number one anymore. "
Vicky looked up to Cecil and shot him a smile.
"...that said, I... do think my time with you woke something up in me. When you get out, by chance are you gonna be running your business again?"
