Kimmi's Parents Are None Too Pleased

"Why haven't we heard from Kimmi's parents yet?" asked Jennifer.

The faint sound of a cell phone ringtone sounded.

"Where's that coming from?" The two of them quickly found it in Jennifer's purse, which was on top of a dresser.

She glanced at the phone number. "Right on cue." She answered with a "Hello?"

David could hear the voice of Kimmi's father, sounding obviously upset.

"Well, no, she's fine --" Jennifer said before being interrupted.

"But -- no --" Jennifer looked up at Kevin, shaking her head sadly. "I promise, it's okay. I got changed, too, and I wasn't even --"

Kimmi's father's voice returned, now sounding even more upset. Jennifer finally interjected, "She's having fun with Annie. In the morning, we'll --"

More of a raised voice from the other side of the phone, and Jennifer answered, "Just because she looks different doesn't mean she is different all of a sudden! Now, we really don't know how this is all going to shake out yet. We'll just stick to our plan and --"

Jennifer rolled her eyes as Kevin heard more muffled speech. Finally, she sighed and said, "Well, do you want me to have her call you?"

That was met with an obvious no, so Jennifer shrugged and said, "Okay, we'll take her home right now, then. Just remember, none of this was her fault, okay?"

Kevin could tell the response involved some invective directed toward Jason Henderson. Jennifer said a quick goodbye and ended the call. She said to her husband, "I assume you heard..."

"What do they think is going to happen to her here that isn't going to happen to her there?" Kevin asked.

Jennifer replied, "Best I could tell, they went to bed early and got woken up by Jason's announcement. They turned on the TV to see what was going on, and they saw more video from the concert, and they're none too happy to see that Kimmi was turned into -- turned into a sexpot."

"So you think they might punish her?" Kevin wondered.

"I wouldn't be surprised."

"I hope they'll at least cool off by the morning."

"Well, it's not like they're gonna be able to sleep on it," Jennifer pointed out. "Come on, we'd better go tell the girls."

"Now you've got me worried," Kevin said. "I wish Kimmi could stay here and not worry about things."

Jennifer gave out a strangled gasp and dug her nails into her husband's muscular arm. "What?" he asked.

She said, "Um, I think we should avoid the 'W' word."

"Oh, shit," said Kevin, realizing what he'd just said.
