Kicking the ghost's nest

Brian finally reaches the last stop, a double black diamond trail. As the lift comes to a brief stop he hesitates to get off, the fear taking hold. Trying to convince himself to just get off the lift it suddenly starts to move again to return to the bottom of the mountain.

"Shit I can't go back down after all of that!"

Wham! He tries to push off....in the process landing face first, the lift traveling over his fallen body.

"Ooof!" regaining his senses, he crawls away from the lift and attempts to stand. "Good thing no one is here to watch me kill myself..." At that he swears he could hear someone laughing, a look around proves that no one else is there. "Must have been the wind." He manages to stand and hop towards where the trail starts. Looking down the mountain, he sees areas where what seems to be a trail meets near-vertical angles! The decline littered with trees and winding trails is a sight that would make any novice weak in the knees.

"Ok! Well now...all I have to do is go down, should be easy!" Trying to convince himself, but the fear is unmoving. "I'll just take it slow and steady letting gravity do the work...just carve back and---!!"

He tries to start at an angle to keep his speed down, but somehow he just goes straight! He begins gaining speed at an uncontrollable rate, within seconds the trees are but blurs. Believing that he could regain control was a mistake.

"Whoah! No no no no, go left! Come on!! Oh shit!"

The next thing Brian knows while he is barreling down the mountain is what it feels like to suddenly hit a dip...then a bump...and the lack of resistance as he has completely left the ground. Time slows as he sees the ground disappear, revealing the open mountainside and a 100-meter drop-off. Everything goes black...

His consciousness returning, he slowly opens his eyes. It's bright, but warm...his mind starts to recall what had happened, feeling what it was like to fly. The shock sends him upright, looking around he sees that he is in his bed back at the resort, alone.

"What happened? A dream? How did I end up back in my room...." he gets up to look in a mirror, noticing some minor pain from his back, but the mirror reveals no external injuries. "Odd guess I blacked out and the rescue service brought me here?..."

Feminine Voice: "Not exactly..."

A voice rings out, that sounds like it's coming from right next to him.

".....Did...did I just hear someone?"

Turning left and right in search of whoever is in the room with him. He doesn't see anyone which worries him.

Feminine Voice: "Yup, that was me"

He looks around again in a panic, but still, there is no one here. The room is relatively small, there isn't any place to hide...Brian wonders if there is a speaker hidden somewhere as a prank.

Feminine Voice: "I'm not in the room, I'm in you..."

The confusion sets in, his sane mentality isn't able to connect what is going on...

"In me?...What do you mean...in me?! Who are you?! What is going on?!"

Feminine Voice: " Chill! I'll answer everything...My name is Aya, I uhh...was following someone up on the mountain when you crashed into a tree...which knocked you out. I helped you down, and into your room."

The soft voice calms Brian down enough for him to register what was said.

"Well...thanks for saving me, but how did you do that, and why can't I see you?"

Aya: "Because I am dead, I somehow possessed you and that allowed me to use your body to get down the mountain"

"Possessed....right, that makes sense....what the hell?! Why are you still in me?"

Aya: "I promise that I did it to save you, and as for why I'm still in you...I can't seem to get out....I'm not sure why. I think I was able to take over because you were knocked out, and I also might not be able to leave because I don't want to."

"Oh, that's good that you don't want to leave my body!"

Aya: "You wouldn't understand. As a ghost, I couldn't feel anything, but now that I am inside of you I can feel whatever you feel. It's warm and comfortable."

"Oh this is great, I have a ghost in my head, and you are stuck! Am I going insane, it must be a concussion from hitting the tree."

Aya: "Well you're welcome for saving your life, I could have left you to freeze"

"...You are right, I'm sorry. It's just that this is a bit much."

Aya: "Consider it payment for my troubles. Ah! It feels good to be alive again, minus sharing a body...that is different."

Now that she mentions it, Brian can feel her presence. It's like a warm **** that is hugging his essence, it's so close but not so much so that it is smothering.

Aya: "I doubt it's permanent anyways, I probably just need time to regain some energy or something."

"Regain energy....what is this, a game?! Whatever there doesn't seem to be anything I can do."

Aya: "That's the spirit! It's not all bad, it's not like I'm evil or anything. Plus it's been years I think since I have been alive so to speak. I died up in the mountains a couple of years ago."

Brian suddenly remembers the story between the two strangers in the elevator earlier.

"Oh I think I heard of a ghost that haun--I mean exists around here, someone said they died a couple of years ago, I guess that is you. How old were you when you died?"

Aya: "Asking a girl her age?"

"Ah-er, I mean I was only trying-"

Aya: "Hahaha, it's ok. I'm joking! Geez, you are so timid. I was 19...don't get any weird thoughts!"

"Hey! I'm not that type of person!"

Aya: "Sure you're not~by the way don't you have a date soon?"

"Date? Oh crap! I forgot I said I would meet with Natalie. I can't go to that! Not with you stuck inside of me!"

Aya: "Don't be like that! I was getting excited, she was pretty cute you know?"

"Wait how did you know about her?...You were watching us!"

Aya: "No! I was simply in the area, and I decided that I wanted to go up the mountain too...Ok, you two seemed interesting. Rather, your embarrassing conversation was interesting haha."

"Ahh, shut up! I can't go through with this, it was already awkward enough before I got possessed."

Aya: "Don't worry about it, I'll help you out. Everything will be fine, I promise!"

"..."

Aya: "Look you can't waste a good opportunity like this."

"...Fine, things can't get any weirder anyways."

Aya: "Yay! Let's go get laid!"

"Wait what?!"

Aya: "Shut up, let's just go! This is going to be so much fun!"

"What did I get myself into...should I go through with it?"
