You grin. Katie is your amazing girlfriend. A 5'2” sex kitten of petite proportions, dark brown hair, and cheerful disposition.

“Morning :-*” You reply quickly.

“Im excited 4 2nite! Where r we going??”

You scowl. Tonight? What's going on tonight? The realization hits you just as a second text comes in.

“U didnt forget did u???”

Shit. Your anniversary. Your one year anniversary. The anniversary she's been talking about for at least a month. You need to salvage the situation. Quickly.

“Of course not! Its a surprise!” You reply quickly.

“You forgot... :'-(” She types back. You grimace, but there's nothing to do now but double down and hope she buys it.

“I didnt forget!!! Ive got a dinner reservation and a gift and everything!” You insist.

“You got me a present?! Yayyyy!!!” You sigh in relief. She believed it. “Ill see you 2nite. Love you!!!!! :-* :-* :-*”

“Love you :-*”

You fall back against the sofa and groan. You fucked up. You fucked up big. And now you've got a mess to clean up.

Pulling out your phone again, you start Googling restaurants. There's a bistro not too far away that you vaguely remember hearing good things about. Pricey, but you doubt Applebees will appease her. A quick call confirms that they've got a reservation available.

“Now for a gift.” You mutter, rubbing your temples. Flowers? Good idea, but probably not enough. Jewelry? Maybe. But you're running low on cash and the dinner's probably going to clean you out. What else... what else...

And then you remember it. The lingerie sitting in your closet. Leaping over the couch, you rush to the bag and check the sizes.

“That's crazy...” There's no way that Alexis and Katie are the same size. Mike's girlfriend is quite a bit curvier than Katie. And yet, these clothes look like they will fit Katie perfectly. It seems too good to be true.

It takes you only a second to mull over the situation. Dinner at a fancy restaurant. A gift of sexy lingerie. A happy girlfriend wearing the sexy lingerie for you this evening...

Fuck yeah. Quickly, you gather the set and start looking for something to wrap it in. As you work, you do your best to quiet the voice in your head questioning the ethics of this.

It's not really stealing, after all. The package was addressed to you. Mike – or whoever bought it – didn't even bother to ask you to watch for it. So it kinda belongs to you now. And you can always pay him back if he starts asking about it. Or just play dumb and tell him it never showed up. It's fine. Everything is fine.

“Holy fuck she's going to look hot in this.” You laugh again, carefully laying the set in a gift box you managed to find and pushing aside all thoughts to the contrary.
