Chapter 4 by hhhhzzzz hhhhzzzz

He remembers how else he used the ring

Just starting your career is always difficult…

Tom closed his eyes and let the memories wash over him, relishing in Sarah's meteoric rise through the company ranks. The journey from junior sales manager to head of sales had taken two years, fueled by Tom's quiet determination.

Sarah: "I literally can't sell anything to anyone".

Tom: "I know it's hard to adapt to a new job, but I think give yourself some time…"

Sarah: "You don't understand! This is physically impossible. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong".

Tom looked at his wife. Tears welled up in her eyes. He didn't know what to tell her. What words of support to choose in such a situation.

He remembers trying to help. Advise “I think you're offering them the wrong solution” or “I think you should put a little more thought into the letter”. But all he got in response was yelling and resentment. Hours would pass and his wife would quietly apologize and thank him for his help.

But Tom didn't understand how to help in such a situation. He saw that he needed to create some kind of push here to make her more confident.

He used the ring to help her and her clients be more agreeable, let's say.

The memory transported Tom back to theirshared car ride, the warm sunlight casting an inviting glow on Sarah as she beamed with pride.

Sarah: "Today I've received my performance review feedback. I've scored the highest in our group. They told me that I could be promoted soon".

Tom smiled at her, unable to contain his swelling pride.

Tom: "That's wonderful! What did they say exactly?"

Sarah: "They said something had changed in the way I approached my work. If I continued on this path, I would definitely be promoted!"

At some point, she began to feel more confident about herself. She found a company "Clarkson & Co" that was tagged as "do not even try" in their database and decided to approach them. She was determined to get down to business with them. Tom wasn't sure if it was a good idea, but he decided not to oppose it. She already had enough completed cases to pass the performance review at a high level.

Tom's mind traveled to their cozy kitchen. Sarah has just returned from work and joyfully runs to Tom right from the doorstep.

Sarah: "Tom, today I've closed a deal with "Clarkson & Co"! They'll be buying our software for… hear me out… twenty thousand people — and that's not even the best part".

A look of surprise appeared on Tom's face.

Sarah: "Today was the final round of negotiations, and you know who was present? Our CEO!"

Tom gasped at this revelation: "James? James Bloomfield?"

Sarah beamed with pride: "Yes! He told me it's one of the biggest deals in our company's history. I am now officially the Goddess of Sales!"

Sarah was unstoppable. Going from Junior Sales Manager to Sales Team Leader in just 16 months was a great achievement. Tom began planning how he could help her career, but news got ahead of him.

Sarah: "I was told today that John will be leaving the company, and they have decided that I am a very good fit for his role. Tom, I'll be in charge of the entire department. That's hundred people... I'll be managing a hundred people!"

Tom: "What about your compensation?"

Sarah: "Well, it's fine: 250k salary plus 90k as a bonus and about 100k in stock."

Tom: "Wow, that's a lot."

Sarah: "I know! Well, I've officially been promoted to 'wo-man' of the house!"

But things didn't stop there. From 100 people, her department grew to 1,000, earning the title of “a company within a company.” They got their own software engineers, analysts, product managers, HR people... whole new offices opened just to accommodate all these people. And all this became possible thanks to Sarah.

Tom remembered another time he used the ring
