Anna grimaced at the thought. It was arguably the fastest, and safest, way to get her shoe back. Besides, her shoe was already flooded with mud. It wasn't like her foot wouldn't be covered in it, anyway, since she didn't have the time to wash it out.
She groaned as her bare toes stretched towards the mud, then shrieked as she firmly planted her foot in the mud, the cold, gritty substance oozing between her toes and caressing her sole, as it rose over her ankle. She bent over, grabbed her left flat firmly by the heel, and yanked. The mud resisted her efforts, forcing her to yank upward and back on it several times, stretching the cheap leather as she struggled with her shoe. She was about to give up, when, with one last hard yank, it finally came free, a loud pop accompanying its' release from the mire's grasp. Anna nearly fell on her pert bottom, surprised as she was, before recovering her balance and getting out of the puddle.
With no time to waste, she started towards the doors, dragging her left foot through the wet grass and shaking her shoe out as best she could. Just before she hit the pavement, she took a quick look at her shoe. She'd managed to shake a good deal of the mud out of the flat, but there was still some in the toe and bottom of her flat that refused to come out. Fortunately, there was very little left on the outside of it, so she wouldn't leave a trail. The heel was badly stretched, and there were several small tears in the leather, but it looked wearable. She tossed it on the ground, and slid her foot into it, grimacing as her toes buried themselves in the mud in the toe, more oozing against her sole, as she made for the door again.
It quickly became apparent that, between the mud in her shoe, and the damaged heel, her foot was going to slide all over inside her loose shoe. As she opened the door, before she could fully finish the thought, the one minute warning rang through the halls! She didn't have time to grab her books! Shit!
