Jennifer gets a call

"Well, I'm sure your fans and viewers will be glad this was all cleared up." The host said. The interview continued with a few softball questions about the show, but Jennifer knew the difficult part was over. They'd bought her story, and in one interview she'd salvaged her reputation! She felt her former confidence, which had been crushed by the last moth of humiliations returning.

The interview ended with Jennifer walking offstage to a standing ovation. She blew kisses to the crowd, smiling and waving. Then backstage in her dressing room she saw her phone was ringing. It was her manager Frank calling.

"Jennifer, what on earth are you up to?" He asked in a raised voice.

"Hey Frank." Jennifer sighed. "You see the interview?"

"Of course I saw it." Frank said. "I've also been fielding a dozen calls from your director and the shows producers. They're furious!"

"Why?" Jennifer asked innocently.

"Jennifer, you went on television and lied about the filming of your show!" Frank said. "You've put the crew in an incredibly awkward position! They have to say you were telling the truth, or risk appearing to be fighting with their star!"

"So?" Jennifer asked. After all, this was exactly what she intended. "I checked my contract: there are no restrictions over what I can say in interviews."

"...That may be true." Frank said with a sigh. "But you don't want the entire production of your show to be angry with you!"

"Why? What can they do?" Jennifer said confidently.

"I guess we'll find out..." Frank sighed.
