Chapter 3 by DT-1010 DT-1010

Who gets the Note?

Jaune and Oscar

(AN: Oscar is old enough here for sex, despite being younger)

...

“This can’t be real.”

“I know. But… But what if it is?”

“It makes no sense, though. An object like this is pure fantasy.”

“I know. I should have tossed it aside the moment I found it. But something – and I can’t explain what – made me reconsider.”

“How come?”

“I don’t know. The book… It just feels real somehow.”

Oscar’s words weren’t exactly concrete proof. After all, a silly book should be just that – a gimmick. Some jest that someone with too much time on their hands came up with.

And yet Jaune understood what the younger boy meant, because he felt the same kind of impression as he stared at the book lying on the table.

It looked, by all means, like a normal notebook one might come across in a classroom. There was nothing special about it. At least, if you only looked at the cover, which was rather mundane. The book was colored a soft magenta. There was no title, and no other decorations save for a blank circle on the cover, accentuated by dark purple lines. That was all to it. The backside of the book was the same magenta that made up most of its color scheme.

However, when you opened the book and took a look at the first page, where the title was written down in bold letters, then the real nature of the book became abundantly clear.

“Still, who came up with a title like ‘Sex Note’?!” Asked Jaune in exasperation.

Oscar immediately shushed him. They looked around, fearing that anyone might have overheard them. The duo were all alone in a secluded part of Beacon’s library. Rows upon rows of books shielded them from any curious bystanders. It was also a well-chosen spot thanks to Jaune’s craftiness. Not a lot of people ever sought out the books hidden away in one of the library’s most feared sections.

The one that housed all of professor Port’s memoirs and doctor Oobleck’s published theories.

Hence why it was the perfect spot for them to meet. Neither wanted to be caught possessing a strange book such as this one. Jaune could easily imagine Weiss calling him a pervert, or Nora and Yang teasing him for weeks on end. The same went for Oscar. No. They couldn’t let anyone see this book.

“Okay, okay.” Jaune rubbed his temples. He needed to find some answers. “Let’s go over this one more time. You said you found this book while tending to the gardens?”

Oscar nodded. “Yeah. I was trimming one of the hedgerows, when suddenly this thing fell on my head. Almost knocked me out, too. I’m pretty sure it’ll bruise.” He rubbed the right side of his scalp. “It happened so suddenly. One moment I was busy working, and the next I had this thing basically fall in my lap. But the strange part is that I wasn’t standing next to a building. So no one could have accidentally thrown it out of a window.”

Unlike Jaune and his friends, Oscar wasn’t a real student at Beacon. Not really. The younger male came from an agrarian village where he’d been a farmhand, working in his family’s fields. But Oscar had bigger ambitions than mere farming. He wanted to work in the city or at Beacon instead of tending to crops. And gardening just so happened to be something he was good at. Beacon paid its groundkeepers well, and the work experience and money gathered here would help Oscar find a better education.

Maybe even become a huntsman himself!

They’d met early on in the year, and had become good friends despite their differences. Oscar was a friend that Jaune could talk to when everything else became a bit too much. He loved his team dearly, and their sister team RWBY was fun to hang around with, especially Ruby who was his first friend, but sometimes they were too much. Too successful in being huntsmen. They were in a whole different league compared to Jaune. And that intimidated him. Oscar, on the other hand, was more of a civilian. Like Jaune. And the former farmhand valued their friendship as well, considering there weren’t many people his age in Beacon.

“And there wasn’t a Bullhead flying overhead, right?”

“No. Nothing whatsoever. And no one threw it as far as I can tell. I was the only one there.” Said Oscar.

Which made the sudden appearance of the Sex Note all the more confusing. Jaune hummed as he tried to think of an explanation.

Sadly, despite being a team leader and his surprising cleverness, he couldn’t find any. He knew the place where his friend found the book. It was near the cliffs of Beacon. Aside from the entrance to the forest, which was still a fair distance away, there weren’t any faculties of interest to the students. Therefore there shouldn’t be any reason for anyone to be there at that time.

Jaune sighed. “Well, let’s leave it at that for now. I doubt we’ll discover the book’s origin without any new clues.”

“That’s fair. It doesn’t really matter in the end, anyway.” Oscar said in agreement. The tanned boy’s eyebrows dipped down. “But… About the book itself?”

“I know. Although I’m not sure why, I feel the same way you do. It gives off the vibe that it would actually cast some sort of magic.”

And wasn’t that just plain crazy? Jaune and Oscar both looked down at the open book, eyes focused on the words underneath the strange title.

Instead of the author’s name or a standard introduction, there was instead a list of rules. It was fairly detailed, too. They basically described how the book somehow possessed the power to make people have sex by simply writing their names on its blank, empty pages.

Or, well, not that simple. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any need for rules. Each rule was a piece of information that informed the reader of how the Sex Note worked. For example, aside from merely writing the desired partner’s name, you also needed to mentally envision that person. The book wouldn’t work if you didn’t do so. It was rather specific, but the boys shrugged as they were already having a hard time believing it to be more than a sham.

The rest of the rules were pretty much the same. Each was detailed and straightforward enough to comprehend.

“I can’t believe we’re actually contemplating whether or not this is real.” Groaned Jaune.

“Agreed. But what if it’s true? What if this book does have that power? I mean, semblances can do crazy things. Sometimes they do stuff that would be considered magic by people who don’t know what they are.”

Jaune reluctantly saw Oscar’s point. “Then, should we… try it?”

His friend gulped nervously. That was the million lien question, wasn’t it?

Neither one of them could shake off the feeling that this book truly contained the power that its author claimed to be true. An item that made people have sex together. It was something straight out of a fantasy, and both Jaune and Oscar couldn’t deny the allure of playing out said fantasy. After all, they were still hormone-driven teenagers. Remaining virtuous and keeping one’s morals intact was shockingly hard when faced with such overwhelming power.

There were also plenty of women to pick from, if they chose to use the Sex Note. Huntresses-in-training were remarkably gorgeous. It was a given; aura somehow caused people’s youth to be preserved longer than average, which made older women like miss Goodwitch look as if they were still below their thirties. Their skin was taken care of, their health remained superb. And a life of a huntress was akin to that of an athlete. None of them had any excess fat that degraded their attractive figures, for example.

It was hard, living together with such beautiful girls in shared dorms. Jaune could personally attest to that. He’d seen glimpses of Nora and Pyrrha changing clothes. Their bodies were amazing! All the pancakes that Nora consumed seemed to go to her breasts or butt, and Pyrrha’s long legs were incredibly toned yet feminine. Sometimes the blonde got a boner by simply watching them. They were just that sexy. And don’t get him started on the other female students!

Oscar was in agreement, as he had experienced the pleasure of working together with miss Goodwitch, who was practically a model with that body and those looks. The young man was also surrounded by older girls that were total knockouts.

Thus, although both boys were no troublemakers, or didn’t possess any evil intentions, they couldn’t resist the alluring call of the book. They reluctantly caved in to their primal desires.

“Let’s do it. W-We’ll give it a quick try – just to see if it truly works!” Oscar decided.

Jaune nodded, his mouth feeling dry. “All right. No harm in doing that, right? We’re only making sure no one is pulling a prank on us.”

It felt easier to use the Sex Note if they lied to themselves. Admitting that they were complete perverts wasn’t going to inspire any confidence.

Jaune picked up a pen, flipped to a vacant page, and began to write.
