Jane, your oldest friend

Mulling it over for a second you decide to call Jane, maybe she can help you understand what's just been handed you.

She'd always listened to you, always trusted you. And, if you're completely honest you've had the biggest crush on her even before you knew you were gay; "Everyone feels this way about their best friend", "Wanting to kiss your best friend is normal.. right?... I'm defiantly 100% straight."

Calling her you decide against telling her right away, it's far too easy to explain things wrong over the phone. Even explaining things in person is hard, but at least you're better at it.

"Hey Ava, how are you."

God, you love hearing her voice, love talking to her. AVA STOP BEING SO GAY FOR ONE SECOND AND TALK TO HER.

"I'm good. Mind coming over, I've got something I need to show you."

"Now?"

"If you can yeah."

"Alright, see you soon."

"Byeee."

Setting your phone down, you panic for a few seconds oh fuck I look terrible. My hair's a mess, I haven't even showered. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT BEFORE I CALLED HER.

Then it hits you that you don't need to worry, in fact, you may never need to worry about makeup and doing your hair ever again.

Not entirely sure how you should be doing it you raise your hand up imagining yourself fully dressed; heeled boots, leggings, jeans, a cute purple crop top with a small lesbian flag right at the shoulder straps. And after a few seconds of standing there like an idiot, it works.

Your clothes ripple and shift, leaving you just as you imagined. Only one slight detail gets in the way of your excitement; you forgot to include underwear. Now you'd hoped that it wouldn't touch those considering you hadn't told it to replace them, but apparently you need to be slightly more specific.

Focusing once again you feel your clothes shift again. Faster this time. Only now, you're the only person who'd notice the change.

"Now to focus on makeup and shit."

Moving to your bathroom, you stand in front of your mirror. Considering yourself for a second, you decide on a purply colour scheme.

First your eyes. You focus on giving yourself a witchy purple, fading to gold as it goes outwards.

Then your face. Clearing any blemishes away, you watch as your skin turns from the snowy pale that you'd always hated into a more pleasing orange rose, freckles dotted under your eyes.

Now for your lips. You make them slightly plumper staining them a beautiful shade of dark purple.

And finally your hair. You'd never been able to grow much further than your shoulders; time for that to change. It twists and falls as it lengthens finally coming to a stop at your ass.

Now for something you'd always wanted to try; watching almost in awe of the fact that it's actually happening, your hair twists and turns over itself forming three braids; each tied off with a piece of lavender, they then twist further braiding themselves into one big braid.

You change a few other small things but they're not nearly exciting as your makeup and hair.

Taking a step back, you watch yourself posing in the mirror. Pursing your lips together Oh fuck, I'm hot.

There's a knock on the door, probably Jane.

Running towards the door you open it, seeing Jane on the other side you immediately pull her into a hug.

"It's so good to see you."

"We saw each other just last night Ava, you don't have to get so excited over everything"

"I'm not getting excited over everything, I'm getting excited over you."

"Fineeee."

Pulling away from you she looks you up and down.

"Oh shit, you look amazing."

"Well, That's part of why I asked you over"

She looks just as confused as you expected her to be.

"Come on in, I'll do my best to explain."

Leading her to your bedroom, you sit her down on the bed. Mentally preparing yourself as you do.

Starting from the beginning, you show her your ring.

"So I found this ring in the middle of the street."

"You cleaned it before you put it on right?"

"Of course I did, I'm not disgusting."

"So is this what made you look so good?"

"No, but it let me look this good."

She looks at you again, face wrapped in confusion.

"So I put it on and this ghost? thingy pops out of it explaining that it'll let me "change" women."

"You sure they're not just an "Alpha male", cause they sure sound a lot like one."

Seeing her grin so cutely at her own joke warms your heart.

"Probably not considering I don't even own gold eyeliner and y'know."

You point to your eyes as you say it, watching as hers grow wide with surprise.

"HOLY SHIT. That's like stained in there, wait can you do mine."

Seeing her smiling all excitedly gets you smiling just as much. See this is why she's such a good friend.

"Sure, what do you want."

"Can you give me a really cute shade of pink, Like petunia pink?"

How TF does she have time to remember every single flower, still it's really cute seeing her obsess over them.

"Sure."

"Wait, I just had a thought. How do I know what's real, you know considering the whole control thingy?"

Oh shit, you hadn't thought about that. But hopefully...

"I think I know a way around that."

Focusing again on the ring, you wait a few seconds before Regina emerges from it.

"Ohh, she's pretty."

"Why have you summoned me ring bearer."

You point over at Jane.

"I want her to be aware of every single change I make. No matter what I say to you, no matter what I do, she will always know what it is that's changed. And if it's possible she is also able to reverse those changes."

"I cannot allow her to reverse the changes, to do that she would have to have her own ring. However I can promise that she will notice every change. Now, are you absolutely certain that this is what you want?"

"Yes, absolutely."

As she disappears back into the ring Jane gasps.

"Oh shit, wait how did I not notice your hair? Fuck, I love how it looks. Wait can I touch it."

"We've been friends long enough, you don't need to ask to touch it."

Grinning like a kid promised candy, she gingerly reaches over to you running her hand through your hair. Slightly to your annoyance, a few strands of hair come loose from the braid, but hey it's not as though it's too hard to redo now that you have this ring.

"Thanks. Like really thank you, it means so much to me knowing you'd do that for me."

"Of course, you really think I'd manipulate you. You're my best friend Jane, I'd feel horrible doing that to you."

She looks down at her lap shyly, blushing deeply.

"What's wrong?"

"So I, uhh, I was thinking last night, after you kissed my cheek."

OH GOD PLEASE TELL ME I DIDN'T MESS UP, DID SHE HATE IT? PLEASE DON'T HATE ME.

"And uhh, I liked it. Far more than any other guy who's kissed me and I was lying there tossing and turning until I remembered how you described gay panic. And now I think I'm bi."

WHAT?. WAIT FUCK. OMG. DON'T PANIC AVA, DON'T MESS THIS UP.

"Do you want me to do it again?"

"Huh?"

"Kiss you I mean."

Her blush grows even deeper.

"Sure."

Reaching out, you grab her cheek pulling her closer to you. CALM DOWN AVA, STOP PANICKING. Your lips meet and you do your best to guide her through the kiss, heart racing as you do.

Pulling away you let out a light moan.

"I've wanted to do that for the longest time."

"You have?"

"Of course I have. You're really pretty and I'm very gay."

She falls over into the bed, screaming into a pillow. You let out a small giggle as she does.

"So what did you think?"

"I, uh liked it. Really liked it."

Flustered she reburies her head back into the pillows. Continuing to giggle internally at her reaction you reach over to stroke her hair.

"Stoppppp."

"You mean you don't like it."

"I guesssss."

"Well, we already know you're a bottom."

"AVA STOPPPPPPPP."

Leaning over you hug her close to you kissing her hair as you do.

"So." Please don't mess anything up Ava. "Do you want to date me."

You feel her tighten up slightly underneath you.

"It's fine if you're not ready, or if you don't want to."

She lets out a really long, shaky breath. Heart dropping your brain starts panicking, imaging all the ways things could go wrong.

"Yes."

That's it, that one word. Letting go of the breath that you'd been holding, you hug her tighter to you. Fuck this is perfect, cuddled up to your bes- NO YOUR GIRLFRIEND.

Feeling her stir beneath you, you realize you've been holding her a bit too tightly.

"So as my girlfriend do you have to explain how to be gay to me?"

Nuzzling yourself into her neck, you take a second just to appreciate how good her hair smells.

"Of course I do."
