Chapter 4 by veryhairy veryhairy

What's next?

James's ravenous appetite

"Whoa, man. Slow down. The food's not gonna run away."

"I'm just really hungry right now. I don't know why."

James was scarfing down the third sandwich he bought from the cafeteria. He wouldn't usually eat this much but ever since halfway through his first class, his stomach had been rumbling nonstop. He felt a great big fire erupt in his gut that could only be quenched with high calory nourishment.

"Alright man, I'm gonna go." Evan stood up. "You gonna keep eating?"

"Yeah. I'll catch up later."

...

It was a while before James finished his fourth sandwich that he finally felt at least a bit full. He held in a long burp and sighed. A few other students were looking on strangely from the sides, having witnessed James eat four footlong sandwiches in the blink of an eye. Being watched by dozens of pairs of eyes caused James to sweat nervously. He hated having this many eyes noticing him. He stood up abruptly causing his chair to screech along the floor and picked up his bag, bolting through the cafeteria doors.

...

Olivia stared at the boy who sped out of the room while sitting with her friend Julie.

"Did you see him eat all that, Olive?" Julie, the red-headed girl said with her east European accent. "That was so weird."

"Yeah..."

Olivia stared at the door James left through, her mind too preoccupied with one thing only. His smell. She didn't know what it was or why she was the only one who smelt it, but it made her feel good. It made her feel like protecting James. Making sure no other woman would get close to him without her consent. She was the alpha wife!'

'What the hell am I thinking?'

"Are you okay?" Julie asked. "You look like you just drank sour milk."

"Yeah, um, I-I'll be right back. I have to go to the washroom."

Olivia got off her seat and hurried out of the cafeteria hoping to find James, not really knowing what she'd do after that. She knew the boy even before high school. They were friendly acquaintances and classmates and nothing more. He might have had a bit of a crush on her but so did several other guys. She was never one that cared about dating and relationships...until now. All of a sudden, a wave of anger formed in her heart out of nowhere.

How dare James run away from her! He was her property!

'No! That's not what I think! Dammit!'

Olivia cursed herself. She had to find out what was going on, and James most likely had the answer!
