Chapter 2 by valironsfan valironsfan

What just happened?

It needs an explanation

When he opened his eyes he found himself in a white … space. He was no longer wearing the socks and tshirt he’d had on in the B&B, instead he was wearing some sort of grey robe. Perhaps the weirdest thing was that he wasn’t freaking out. Jack was not the kind of guy to stay cool in the face of weird things happening. He knew that about himself. So the fact that he wasn’t freaking out meant whatever was going on was affecting him directly. Not just with this teleport bullshit.

“Hello,” he said, hoping for the best.

“Greetings,” came the reply, out of nowhere. The voice feeling weirdly automated, like the stress on each sound of the word was the same.

“Where am I?” Jack continued.

“You remain physically in room 3 on the first floor of the Higgins B&B. Your astral self has entered into the Domain of the Fallen Supreme.”

“Uhh. … What?”

“You remain physically in room 3 on the first floor of the Higgins B&B. Your astral self has entered into the Domain of the Fallen Supreme.”

“Yeah, I got that. But like what is this place?”

This is the Domain of the Fallen Supreme. It is an astral space housing the Fallen Supreme. The space in question was spread across multiple universes in multiple realities and across both physical and conceptual items. You claimed this space with your blood and essence.”

“What? Essence?”

“Your sperm.”

“Oh right. Yeah I did do that. And the blood? Oh from the shop.”

“Correct.”

“And what is happening right now?”

“You are currently conversing with an aspect of the Fallen Supreme.”

“So you’re the Fallen Supreme?”

“No. I am an aspect of the Fallen Supreme. Your comprehension of higher dimensions is insufficient to engage with the Fallen Supreme itself.”

“Ok, Aspect. What do you do?”

“I am an aspect of the Fallen Supreme, I can do anything that you can comprehend.”

“Ok. But what does that mean?”

“As you have claimed this space with your blood and essence the Domain can be used by you to effect changes in the physical world.”

“Changes? What kinds of changes?”

“Any change that you can comprehend.”

“So can you grant wishes?”

It would be more accurate to state that the Domain of the Fallen Supreme answers to you as you claimed it with blood and essence and that this claim gives you the capacity to effect change in the physical world as it is a subordinate space.

“So can you grant wishes?”

“While perhaps overly simplified, yes I can grant you wishes.”

“Sweet. What kind of limits are there?”

The limits within your physical space are essentially nil. At higher dimensions limitations exist but you are not capable of understanding them at present.”

“Right, cool, no limits. How many do I get?”

“There is no limit to how many wishes you have.”

“So I get infinite wishes?”

“Yes.”

“That seems weird.”

“Ok.”

“You get that it seems weird, right?”

“Not really.”

“Well who gets infinite wishes? There’s always a limit. Like three. Three wishes I would have understood.”

“...You could stop wishing after three if you like. But you can have as many as you like.”

“And out of curiosity has this domain thing happened to many people before?”

“No.”

“So how many people have received infinite wishes?”

“None.”

“None?”

“The conditions for claiming the Domain have never before been met. Therefore you are the first. You will also be the last. Unless you wish for something other to be the case.”

“So unlimited wishes.”

“Yes.”

“And is there any limits on the type?”

“No limits.”

“Wait so I could wish for world peace?”

“Yes.”

“What would that do?

“Without further details the domain would simply establish world peace in the simplest manner possible. Without further direction that could involve massive loss of life. If nothing lived on this world then there would be peace.”

“Well that’s fucking terrifying. what about changing the past?”

“Yes.”

“I mean, can I do that?”

“Yes.”

“But how would that work?”

“You would wish to change the past and the domain would change the past.”

“But what if I accidentally killed myself in the past?”

“What?”

“I mean what if I wished for something that meant my parents were never born? What would happen to me.”

“You wouldn’t exist.”

“But. But. What?”

“You wouldn’t exist.”

“But then who would make the wish?”

“Then the wishes would never have existed. The domain and physical world would exist in their new states.”

“So before I change the past I should either protect myself to ensure I always exist or possibly that I continue to exist in some phased reality or something so I can continue to exist and still change the past.”

“If so wish. You are the one who claimed the Domain.”

“...I’m confused.”

“Ok”

“What happens if I don’t make any wishes?

“The physical universe will continue without the Domain effecting any changes upon it.”

“And what happens to me?”

“Whatever would have happened anyway.”

“But does this affect my immortal soul or something?”

“There’s no such thing.”

“What?”

“There’s no such thing.”

“What about God?”

“There is no god as you understand the term. There are beings in the universe who have vast powers but none are active in the physical universe in a way that could be understood by humanity.”

“Could I wish for a god?”

“Yes.”

“Hmmm. Could I wish for a soul?”

“I would need you to explain what you wanted but yes.”

“And I can change anything?”

“Yes.”

“I could be smarter.”

“Yes.”

“I could be a god like figure.”

“Yes.”

“I could quite literally be anything.”

“Yes.”

“Wait. If I wish something that turns me into an animal or something will I still have wishes?”

“Yes.”

“But how would I make them?”

“Any changes effected by the Domain by your will do not require specific language. However in the event that a change introduced by you renders you into a form incapable of providing guidance or direction then the Domain will not effect change.”

“Huh. And you are just a disembodied voice.”

“Unless you wish for something different.”

“So if I wished you to take on the appearance and voice of someone…”

“I would take on the appearance and voice of that person.”

“And if I wished for you to behave like that person?”

“I would behave like them.”

“What if that person wouldn’t grant me a wish.”

“Then I would not grant you any further wishes.”

“Right. I should really write this down or something.”

What's first?
