Chapter 40 by Sinburn Sinburn

What's next?

It is time

Gob had been curious about what April had been getting at but she had insisted that she wasn’t sure if it would work and didn’t want to get Gob’s hopes up. Gob was none the wiser but allowed April to keep her little secrets. The next day she returned to her quarters for a while so that she could do some work. “I know I have free reign but I don’t want to **** that position and annoy the boss,” she had said. She did say that she would be back regularly now she knew where he lived.

That left Tallie and Bliss. Bliss had work but she came back every evening. She was almost as happy getting punished by Tallie as by Gob and the ladies kept each other company when Gob had to go and do his night shift.

It was a few days later that Gob heard the Maou’s voice summoning him just before his shift was due to start. He hurried to the royal quarters, knocked and entered. Rose was sitting in the Maou’s lap looking quite content. Her expressions were starting to get a little less creepy. That said, when she saw him, her eyes went wide and she licked her lips in a hungry way that sent a chill down Gob’s spine.

“Gob, good to see you,” said Leaf as he urged Rose out of his lap. “Come, take a seat, we have things to discuss.” He waved a hand and two chairs appeared facing his own. Rose went to sit in one and Gob sat in the other. Gob looked up at Leaf’s face and saw a look of excitement on his face. “I have decided, it is time.”

“Time?” asked Gob.

“Time to try out my lovely bracelets. I have made sure that I have no significant engagements for the next few weeks. I have told Karus that I plan to travel the demon lands incognito to get a feel for what is happening in my lands so he will not be suspicious of my absence. In reality, I plan to spend some time being weak and **** and not me.” His eyes were glimmering.

Gob looked at Rose and she was gazing at him with adoration. “We will do everything we can to help,” she said.

“Thank you, Rose.” He turned to Gob. “I have been discussing a plan with Rose. I am going to become one of the maids. That way you can both keep an eye on me.”

Gob considered the idea. “That’s a good idea. The maids hold a slightly privileged position because everyone sees them as yours. It always gives you the option of saying ‘The Maou wouldn’t appreciate sharing me’ or something like that to keep some of the grabbier lords off you.”

“Exactly,” agreed Leaf. “I hope I don’t have to use it but it does give me the option to refuse. Also, I can always run to Rose during the day and I’d like it if you could stay on duty at night, just in case I need someone to come to.”

Gob gave a small bow of agreement. He didn’t mind. It didn’t really change anything and his night shifts gave him a little time on his own to think or just give his balls a break. “What do we do now?”

“Might I make a request?” Rose chimed in. Leaf nodded and waited for her to continue. “I realise it is a little selfish but if you would be so kind as to make your required clothes before you negate your powers. I am quite busy at the moment and would rather not have to do the tailoring.”

“I think I can accommodate that request,” chuckled Leaf. There was a moment of silence, then he clapped his hands. “Right. No time like the present.”

Within a few seconds, the form of the Maou had melted away and a pretty young human woman was standing in his place. She had brownish auburn hair that ended just below her narrow shoulders. Her face had pouty lips and a button nose faintly speckled with freckles. Her eyes were dusky green and her high eyebrows made her look a little surprised.

Gob couldn’t see her body under the dress she was wearing but he could see enough to see that she was slim and didn’t have much of a bust. He wasn’t surprised that Leaf had chosen a human or that he would choose to make her so petite. He had longed for weakness so why not go for one of the weaker races and a particularly delicate example of the race?

“What do you think?” asked Leaf as she held out the skirt and did a spin.

“You look charming,” said Rose. “I would expect you to have drawn your own attention had you been a real maid.”

“Hehe, I think you are right. I did make myself to my own tastes. What about you Gob?”

“You look very beautiful,” Gob said genuinely. Gob had always admired the Maou’s taste in maids; this one was no different. Leaf blushed and Gob felt himself react to the coy and feminine gesture.

“Thank you, Gob,” she said, with a sweet smile. “I suppose I should gather my things.”

In a flash of light, a travel chest appeared and a process began where Rose went through it and proceeded to reprimand Leaf for having no understanding of what a woman would actually need. Items were vanished and new items materialised until Rose was satisfied. Gob watched, amused by the difference in the Maou. He, now she, was flustered and seemed almost a little airheaded. Maybe that wasn’t different. Perhaps that was Leaf showing through instead of the visage of the Maou he usually wore.

With one travel chest, more sensibly packed, Leaf turned to Gob and said, “It’s time. Will you help me?” She stuck out her hand, the drawer of her desk opened and an ornate box floated into her hand. She sat down in her favourite chair and held the box to Gob.

Feeling the gravity of the moment, Gob stepped forward and took the box. “Do you need to limit your power?” he asked.

Leaf shook her head. “The power of these bracelets is such that I don’t need to.” She held her arm out and gob fastened the first unassuming chain around her delicate wrist. “Ah, it’s such an unusual feeling.”

“Shall I keep going?” Gob asked. Leaf just smiled and nodded as she extended her other wrist to him.

“Aah,” she cried out softly as the second chain was closed. “Keep going, my ankles next.” Gob took her dainty foot in his hand and placed the third chain around it. “Mmmm,” she cried, her eyes clamped shut and her voice going high. “The sensation is stronger in this body,” she panted. “One more.”

As the last one closed Leaf let out a cry that Gob couldn’t tell was pain or pleasure. He let go of her foot and asked, “Are you alright?”

Leaf’s eyes were still closed and she was clearly still dealing with the sensation. “I’m okay. It’s passing. I feel tired though.”

“Well, it is late,” said Rose. “You should rest. Tomorrow, I put you to work.”

Leaf looked at her and smiled. “I can’t wait.”

“What do we call you now?” asked Gob.

“Why, Leaf of course,” said Leaf with a big toothy grin that spoke of utter happiness.
