It's getting late
As the night grew late, exhaustion began to settle over the house. The emotional weight of the day, combined with the comfort of being in a safe space, left everyone feeling drained. Mrs. Geoff, noticing the hour, glanced at you with a gentle smile. “It’s getting late, dear. You need some rest.” She paused for a moment and then added, “You can sleep in my room with me. I have a king-sized bed, so there’s plenty of room.”
Sarah, sensing your discomfort, chimed in. “He can sleep with me if he’d like.”
But Mrs. Geoff quickly shook her head. “No, Sarah. You only have a single bed, and it’s too small to fit both of you comfortably. Let him sleep with me; there’s more than enough space.”
You glanced between the two, unsure of how to respond. Finally, you nodded at Mrs. Geoff, agreeing to her arrangement. After all, you were exhausted, both physically and mentally, and the thought of a good night’s sleep sounded appealing, especially after everything that had happened.
