Chapter 89 by AwesomePossum AwesomePossum

What's next?

Intro to study group

“Hopefully, this group isn't boring.” I muse.
Vi has her arm linked with mine as we walk through the Uni campus.

“Boring? In what way?” She asks.
“I don’t know…”
She bumps her shoulder into mine with a grin.
“C’mon, babe. Be honest.”
I look down, and she has that familiar mischievous look in her eye.
“Fine.” I laugh. “I hope this isn’t another Matt and Ellie situation.”
“You have to give them time.” She says with a smirk. “But let's not get our hopes up, I don’t think every experience is going to be a sexual one.”
“You don’t think Jayce is hot?”
“I do a little. I think it’s just because he’s tall. But, I don’t know if he’ll even be interested...”
“If he’s not interested in you. He’s gay.”

She rolls her eyes as we approach the booked classroom.

Jayce is tall, absurdly so, well, not really. He’s over six feet, but he’s all limbs. An almost wiry build, his dark brown hair is deliberately messy and falls to just below his eyebrows. His average-ish looks are enhanced by his sharp wit and expressive face, always a twitch away from a confident smirk.

“Welcome, lovebirds!” He says loudly from his side of the square table, stretching his long arms above his head. “This is Isabella and Dean!”

The other two students in the room look up and wave politely.

Dean has straight blonde hair, hunched shoulders, and a pair of thick-rimmed glasses that sit low on his nose.

Isabella is a cute but pudgy girl with short black hair that frames her round face.

“Please sit!” Jayce gestures to the other side of the table, where I sit down. He scooches over, as do the other two, and Vi sits next to Jayce.

I lean over towards Dean, he’s explaining the concept of spinning a PR disaster for a hypothetical business, and the typical methods that are used to change the narrative in your favour. We laugh together at the absurdity of this being a unit in University, I glance over at Vi as she giggles. A giggle that is flirtatious and inviting. I catch the slightest hint of whispers as Jayce leans into her, his finger pointing to something in her notes, his whispers so clearly not about the work.

“Really tongueing that pen aren’t you?”

“Tongueing?” She whispers back incredulously, a smirk on her face.

“Yeah. The thing you’re doing to that pen.”

“What? This?” She sticks her tongue out slightly, flicking the button at the top of the pen.

“Lucky pen.”

She rolls her eyes and pulls away.

Not wanting to push his luck, Jayce seems to be focusing back on studying, swapping between Vi and Isabella. I think he caught me watching towards the end earlier. I noticed that he strategically placed both girls between him, a smart guy, I guess.

“Alright…” Isabella says softly. “I’m going home,e I think.”

Dean nods and yawns, “Yeah, me too.”

We agree to call it.

Jayce makes it a point to hug every member of the study group, wrapping those spider-like limbs around everyone. Starting with me, Dean, Isabella, and then Vi. His hug is slightly longer and tighter with Vi, she makes eye contact with me as his hands rest on her back, she stifles her laugh.

“So.” She turns to me as we stand in the elevator. “Jayce is into you.” I grin.

She laughs and tosses her head over her shoulder. “I guess you were right. Everyone is into me.”

“How far do you want to go?”

“You tell me. Daddy.”
