Bio: Zach grew up in the suburbs in southeast Michigan. He was a literal boy scout for years, which is how he got into competitive archery. In his freshman year of college he received a severe injury to his left hand when his bow broke while drawn. He still has pain when gripping things too tightly with his left hand to this day. He met Heather in his sophomore year of college and they married two years after their undergraduate graduation. Zach continued to grad school in Computer Science while Heather started working as an accountant. Things were okay for a few years until Zach finished his PhD. and started working. Heather was happy that Zach was not bringing in money but not that he was earning a lot more than her. There were several arguments over petty things. Zach tried to repair things with his then wife, coming home early one Friday with flowers, and a weekend get away planned. Which was when he found his wife cheating on him, with one of his students. Zach filed for divorce the next day, and had the student transferred to another teacher, immediately.

Bio: Heather grew up in a rather conservative family, told that she should find a husband and settle down and have babies. She grated against what her father in particular wanted for her, and as soon as she could move out of her parents home she did. She met Zach in college and was surprised to find she actually liked him. After dating for some time they got married. Comments from her parents after Zach started working, about how he was making so much more money than her and she should become a stay at home mom now that Zach was working, plagued her mind and undermined her self-esteem. Eventually to spite both Zach and her parents she pursued a relationship with one of Zach’s female students.

Her sexuality was a secret from her parents until she had to explain why she had been transferred out of Zachary Blackstone’s course by the university she was attending. This blew up into a major argument and threats from her parents. She ultimately agreed to their demands so she wouldn’t be cut off financially.

Bio: Lynn met Zach in middle school, becoming quick friends with him. She has been particularly possessive of him since then, scaring away other women who would hang around him. She scared off most other women from Zach’s life, but due to an unfortunate scheduling error, one semester, instead of being in all of Zach’s classes like she normally was, she was in none of them. This was the semester that Zach met and started dating Heather. Lynn hates Heather with a passion, but couldn’t show it until recently, as she did not want to make Zach upset. Over the last year, Lynn has actively spent more time with Zach, trying to isolate him further so that she can have him all to herself.

During a major qualifier competition in their freshman year of university, Melinda did something she still regrets deeply to this day but has never told anyone about. She sabotaged Zach’s bow. She just meant to cause him to do poorly in the competition but her sabotage was the cause of his bow breaking and his resulting injury.

While Zach had indeed been interested in Piper, the rumors were overblown and spread at least in part by Lynn, to isolate Zach.
