Who is the person that Cordelia sees?

Cordelia's first thought was that at last she was rescued. Fred was here and there was no way Fred would leave her stranded in the box like this. Granted, she felt a little embarrassed about being naked in front of Fred but her lack of modesty seemed a small price to pay for finally getting out of the box.

Then she noticed that the woman who was peering into the box had blue hair. Moreover, she had a cold expression on her face that made her look totally different from Fred.

"You aren't Fred, are you?" asked Cordelia.

"No, I'm not," said the blue-haired woman. "And I would thank you not to use that name ever again. My name is Illyria. The woman you call Fred was destroyed when I took over this body."

"Wait," said Cordelia. "So Fred is no longer alive."

"No, she isn't," said Illyria. "And I would thank you not to use that name again."

"Er, can you please get me out of the box then?" asked Cordelia. "I really would like to get out of here."

"I'm sure you would," said Illyria. "But first I must complete my mission."

"What mission is that?" asked Cordelia.

"To destroy the accursed thing Wolfram and Hart brought back from the underworld in order to destroy Angel," said Illyria.

"Well, good luck with that," said Cordelia. ""I have absolutely no idea where that might be."

"Were you not dead, Cordelia?" asked Illyria.

"Why, yes, I was," said Cordelia. "Hey, wait! You don't mean --"

"Fortunately for you, I do not possess enough data at this time to confirm my suspicions," said Illyria. "However, I will be back when I am more certain."

And with that, she closed the little door to the slot and locked it.
