Ice spikes

Ice spikes are generally the same as fireballs, just with another branch of magic. You hope it is not considered uncreative to use them. However, you are not here to win an art contest anyway. You focus, take a deep breath and let the mana flow. The cimera starts running towards you when you create a circle of blue light in your hand. The runes you think about rush through it. With the last rune, the circle disappears. You raise your hand, aim at the chimera and on a silent command, the water in the air around your hand gets pullt to a point in front of you, freezes to a sharp, cold ice spike and then immediately shoots forward like an arrow.

The chimera stops her attack and jumps to the side to dodge. It looks surprised, but quicky grows angry and starts running again. You try it again, but the monster is not impressed at all. It probably understands that this is almost the same as fireballs and it saw enough of them in its fight against Tocar. It dodges easy while running towards you. You need to be more clever. You create a new ice spike, but already prepare a second one in your other hand. The chimera dodges again, but this time you shoot the other ice spike at the place where the chimera tried to get save.

It is not able to dodge again and for a short moment you thkink you will land a critical hit. But the chimera destroys your hopes immediately. It raises it's tail and slaps the ice spike out of the air. The impact and sharp peak hurt the tail, but the chimera is still completly ready to kill you. You try to make a new ice spike, but the monster is too close already. You raise your fists to protect yourself, but the chimera tackles you like a rugby player.

You are thrown back and roll over the ground. You try to ignore the pain and get up again to continue fighting, but when you look up you already see the wide open mouth of the chimera. The gods have at least the mercy to let you die quickly.
