INFILTRATION Part 1 - YUMI AND THE MIGHTY LANDALE POV
Zrek, the goblin, emerges groggily from the camp after a night of heavy drinking and revelry. His senses are dulled, and he urgently seeks a suitable spot to relieve himself amidst the disarray left by the chaotic celebration under the moonlit sky.
One of the goblins stationed at the entrance barks at him, "Where are you going?"
"None of your business," Zrek replies.
As he stumbles towards a nearby tree, his legs unsteady and mind foggy, a soft, melodic voice calls out to him from the darkness, "Come."
Confused, Zrek halts, bloodshot eyes darting in all directions. Despite finding no one in sight, the allure of the voice is undeniable, like a mesmerizing enchantment that tugs at his very core. Driven by an irresistible compulsion, he feels compelled to follow its beckoning.
With each step, the woods grow denser, the shadows deeper, and an unsettling feeling creeps up his spine. His goblin instincts tell him to turn back, but he is no longer in control of his own actions. The voice guides him further away from the camp, drawing him deeper into the heart of the forest.
Meanwhile, the goblin guards stationed at the entrance, already irritated by their exclusion from the night's festivities, fail to notice Zrek's sudden absence. Their attention is diverted by quarrels and brawls among the remaining goblins, leaving the path unguarded.
Still, the pressing need to relieve himself gnaws at Zrek's senses. He quickens his pace, the urgency growing with every passing moment. "Meet the master of the voice," he mumbles to himself, trying to reassure his uneasy mind, "then I can pee."
As Zrek navigates through the undergrowth, he senses the presence of something lurking, something beyond the reach of his intoxicated mind. But the voice is too enticing, too captivating, to allow fear to take hold. He forges ahead, driven by an inexplicable **** that defies reason.
Fortunately for Zrek, he doesn't have to wander much longer. The voice feels tantalizingly close, and with every step, he can almost touch its source. As he turns a final corner, he finds himself face to face with the master.
Before him stands a beautiful, blond maiden, her eyes intense, and her attire adorned in alluring darkness. Recognition dawns on Zrek as he squints through the haze of ****. Anger flares inside him as he realizes who it is, but before he can utter a word of protest, the blond knight's fist crashes into his head with startling ****.
The impact sends Zrek reeling, his vision spinning in a whirlwind of colors. Pain shoots through his skull, and he struggles to stay upright, but his body betrays him, and everything goes black.
"Excellent," Aki's voice resounds in their ears, a soft yet commanding tone that carries across the Telepathic Bond, connecting them in unison. The mystical connection amplifies the weight of his words, reverberating through the minds of Yumi and Landale. "Yumi, find your perch in one of the towering trees closer to the goblin camp. Use the shadows to your advantage."
As she meticulously secures the goblin to the tree, Yumi nods with a determined gleam in her eyes, acknowledging the task at hand. "Roger that, Aki," she responds through the telepathic link, her thoughts seamlessly entwined with the others.
"Landale, are you ready?" Aki inquires.
"Oh, Yumi, you got blood on his tunic, that's going to be a pain to copy," Landale whines, his voice tinged with both annoyance and concern, his eyes scrutinizing the blood-stained goblin.
Yumi stands up, her lithe form casting a slight shadow over the subdued goblin. Though she avoids looking directly at Landale, her gaze shifts upward, assessing the surrounding trees, seeking the perfect vantage point. "They're goblins, Landale. It would be stranger if they didn't have blood in their tunic," she remarks with a hint of nonchalance.
"Landale?" Aki's voice resonates again, the subtle shift in his tone conveying a mixture of patience and agitation, clearly telling them that he is still quite angry at their earlier 'argument'.
"Alright, Aki," Landale acquiesces, raising his hand with a solemn gesture. The mystical power of magic courses through him as he weaves the fabric of illusion around himself. He meticulously replicates the goblin's features to perfection, from the grotesque wounds to the smears of crimson staining its mouth and ragged tunic.
Turning to Yumi, Landale touches his nose in jest, "I think you broke its nose, Yumi."
"Tough luck," Yumi retorts playfully, the corner of her lips curling into a brief smile. She glances at Landale, and her eyes convey a silent camaraderie as she adds, "Good luck," before nimbly ascending the nearest tree. Her nimble movements, reminiscent of a skilled acrobat, propel her from one branch to the next, seeking the optimum vantage point to survey the goblin camp.
"Do your best, Landale," Aki's voice encourages, a reassuring presence guiding their actions from afar.
Wiping the blood that trickles down from his nose, Landale takes one last look at his goblin guise and nods resolutely, his determination bolstered by the bond they share. "Of course, Aki," he affirms, his thoughts aligning with theirs.
With confidence and purpose, Landale approaches the entrance to the goblin camp, seamlessly adopting the hunched and swaying gait of an **** goblin, his disguise impeccable.
"Where have you been, Zrek?" asks one of the goblin guards, peering at Landale through suspicious eyes.
"None of your business," Landale growls in response, maintaining the facade with practiced ease. He casts a furtive glance over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of a tree swaying subtly, a silent indicator of Yumi's vigilant presence.
Landale ventures into the goblin camp with utmost caution, the chaotic aftermath of their revelry now laid bare before him. The small clearing is a disarray of empty tankards, half-eaten food, and the slumbering forms of drunken goblins. Their tattered clothing and disheveled appearances speak volumes of their debauchery and carelessness.
In the distance, the flickering embers of a campfire cast eerie shadows on the surroundings, lending an otherworldly feel to the scene. The pungent aroma of **** mingles with the dampness of the forest air, creating an unsettling atmosphere.
The boss's "tent," a ramshackle structure pieced together from salvaged materials, stands at the heart of the camp. It rests at the far edge of the clearing, guarded by the imposing presence of slumbering manticores. These majestic and fearsome creatures lie like sentinels, their massive wings folded close to their bodies, and their spiked tails twitching occasionally as they dream.
As Landale advances toward the boss's tent, his heart pounds in his chest, acutely aware that the slightest misstep could awaken the manticores and spell disaster for their mission.
In a moment of unfortunate clumsiness, Landale's foot slips on a discarded tankard, jolting him into a panic. The noise catches the attention of one of the manticores, its eyes opening and locking onto Landale. Held in the creature's gaze, he holds his breath, hoping that his Disguise Self will continue to deceive the beast.
In the nick of time, Yumi, perched high in a tree, acts swiftly. Employing the spell Command once more, she utters a single word - "Come," her voice imbued with a magical allure, drawing the manticore's curiosity in her direction. The creature's attention shifts, and it turns away from Landale, captivated by the enchanting call.
With relief washing over him, Landale whispers his gratitude to Yumi, "Thank you, Yumi," as he continues forward.
Yumi can't help but show her disappointment in Landale's mishap. Her voice still has a tinge of snark, but there's an underlying sense of frustration, "Oh, Landale, you never fail to surprise me with your lack of grace."
"Give me a break, Yumi," Landale whispers back, his frustration evident. "There are a dozen manticores in front of me. I can't look everywhere!"
"Well, you can start by looking directly in front of you, Landale!" Yumi retorts, still with a hint of sarcasm but also genuine concern for his safety.
Aki's patience wears thin, and he interjects firmly, "Enough bickering. Focus, Landale."
Landale winces at Yumi's remark, biting back further retorts. Now isn't the time for banter, especially with the stakes so high. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he gathers his courage and ventures into the boss's tent.
Yumi's voice continues in his ear, her disappointment evident, "It's just - I cannot believe you tripped on a tankard, for a guy who calls himself 'The Mighty Lan-"
"Oh," Landale cuts her off, his fearful tone indicating that now isn't the moment for jokes.
Landale's heart sinks as he takes in the sight before him. Shock courses through his veins, momentarily paralyzing him. He had expected to find the goblin boss sleeping soundly, exhausted from the night's revelry. The fact that the boss is awake and seemingly unaffected by the festivities sends a jolt of surprise through Landale's core.
Inside the dimly lit tent, the oppressive atmosphere is thick with the goblin boss's presence. Seated on a makeshift throne, the goblin boss locks eyes with Landale the moment he enters. Tension hangs in the air as they size each other up.
His widened eyes betray his astonishment, his mind struggling to process this unexpected turn of events. How could he have miscalculated such a crucial detail? His heart races with a mix of anxiety and fear, as he realizes the perilous situation he now faces.
The goblin boss's eyes narrow, a knowing glint dancing within them. His voice, laced with suspicion and a hint of amusement, conveys his perception of Landale's unease as he growls, "What are you doing in my tent?"
What's next?
Everyone but him
His childhood friend is a slut and everyone knew... but him.
After years of dedicated training, Aki was thrilled to embark on an exciting adventure alongside his childhood friend, Yumi. Little did Aki know, Yumi had undergone a significant transformation, embracing her liberated and adventurous side, sleeping with anyone she fancies.... except him.
