I come clean

Author's Note: Another rather short chapter. The next one is also rather short, and then the chapters get a bit longer again.

After a few long moments of thinking – and of Lisa looking at me nervously and hesitantly – I decide it would be best to be honest with her, the way she was honest with me. We are friends and roommates, and possibly more following certain recent events, so she deserves this much at least. I take a deep breath as I prepare to tell her the truth. “I see... thank you for your honesty, Lisa.” I say as I hand her phone back to her. I pause, unsure what to say next, then decide to bite the bullet and just tell her. “I... I have an app I want to show you as well – but mine is a bit different...” I tell her as I take out my phone and open the QuestMaster app.

Lisa raises an eyebrow at me as she takes my phone and looks at the screen. I watch with trepidation and worry as she reads, and I see her eyes grow wide as she realizes what she's looking at. She keeps staring at the screen for a couple of long minutes as she processes things whole I keep worrying in silence. Please don't be angry, Lisa... “You... you're the quest master?” She says at last and looks at me in disbelief.

I nod silently and briefly take back my phone to open her status screen, then hand it back. She takes her own phone and compares the two apps. I watch her quietly and wait, my heart beating fast and hard in my chest in anticipation. I realize that this is a gamble that can have some... very negative consequences...

Finally, after what feels like forever, she hands me back my phone and closes her eyes. She takes several deep breaths, clearly thinking about things, before she turns to face me and opens her eyes. “You... You made me come to your room and masturbate? You pervert!” She tries to sound angry... and utterly fails, her voice betraying that she is more amused than anything. As I realize that she's not truly angry my nervousness melts away and I smirk at her.

“Nah-ah-ah!” I shake a finger at her. “The objective said only 'Masturbate until you cum', it said nothing about when and where. You're the one who decided to do it in my room while I sleep, you perv!”

“Guilty as charged!” She readily admits.

“I also did not make you ogle me – that one was all you!”

“Guilty again!” She agrees.

“And I also did not make you buy and upgrade the kissing perk – that was all you as well.”

“Guilty times three!” She grins.

For about a minute we just sit here, next to each other, and look at one another, unsure what to say next. Finally Lisa breaks the silence. “So, what happens next... Quest Master?”

“I'm... not really sure,” I admit, “I did not expect you to tell me about the Life Quest app, and I did not plan to tell you about QuestMaster... so...” more silence follows as we both think about it.

“Well, how about a deal?”

“A deal?” I raise an eyebrow at Lisa.

“I will become your... Assistant? Accomplice? Helper? I don't know what term to use... but anyway. I will help you as much as I can, on the condition that I get to approve any and all future quests you give me.” She declares.
