I'm just here for Haley

Jess tried to mask the disappointment on her face, "I'll go check on her."

"She's right here," said Haley from the staircase wearing booty shorts and a large loose hoodie.

"Right, well," said Jess allowing everyone to bask in the awkwardness before leaving the room.

"Walk with me?" asked Haley.

She lead you back towards you dorm finishing off her Gatorade as you walked.

"Sorry about last night," she finally let out, "and this morning. I just," she paused stopping to look at you. "I had a really shitty summer and then I got back here and..." she stopped seemingly trying to find the words. "Im making excuses."

"Its alright," you said, "you dont owe me anything."

Haley leaned in and kissed your cheek.

"First I thought you were just another cocky guy at a school full of them," she said, "but you're sweet."

She lingered on that for a moment taking your hand in hers.

"I have to get to the dorm," she said, "my shift is about to start, but promise me I'll see you around."

"Promise," you said as she slowly pulled away.
