Hunting bandits
Methrida stabbed the man in the neck, finishing off his pathetic life. She sighed and looked around the battlefield, or to be more specific their ambush place.
Her men finished the last of the bandits, who dared to attack the lonely caravan. Methirda smiled to herself, trap for this plague worked this time perfectly. Once she got reports about gangs raiding smaller caravans and not attacking bigger ones, she knew it would be necessary to prepare the right bait for bandits. Just three carts and no visible escort would attract their attention. Bandits didn't know that inside the carts Methrida and her best men, hid.
The first one who saw her didn't even manage to scream. He died when a bolt hit him in the eye. Before the rest of the gang could react, Methirda and her knights attacked them. Heavily armoured men with best swords and hammers faced against rabble armed with spears, axes and rusty swords. Knights were enough to destroy such a small band.
"Commander, we found their leader!" One of her men called her. Methirda walked to him, wiping her sword of blood. One of the bandits was wearing a steel helmet and now in her sword had a small dent. She will have to fix her weapon, but this was for later.
"Yes, yes what do we have here." Methirda said, looking at the bandit leader. He wore an iron breastplate and helmet kapalin. For now, he won't be running anywhere, with both legs broken. Yes, a battle hammer was a highly effective weapon, crashed wounds looked terrible. The man looked at her with one black eye, but he still managed to smirk and chuckled.
"So... the rumours are true. King really let's bitch command his cunts." He said - only for a moment later to hold his breath as Methirda stepped on his broken knee.
"I don't care about your opinion. You are alive as long as you are useful to us. So, now you will tell me-"Methirda stepped harder on his knee, making him scream of pain. "Where is Silver Rabbit? Where is his band?!" She asked again.
Silver Rabbit was known as a merciless bandit leader, who managed to unite under his command a lot of local bands. Since Methirda became the commander, she made her goal to find him and make him pay for his crimes. She suspected, that men must be paid by some neighbouring country. It was impossible for common thugs to gather such large bandits forces. They always managed to escape the royal army, and that pissed Methirda off.
"Silver Rabbit? I saw his face!" Bandit thug was breathing louder, as his joke wasn't welcome by the commander. Rumours said, that the Silver Rabbit never took his mask off. Silver mask of rabbit's face.
"You are a funny guy, but the position of the royal jester is already occupied. I suggest to you start talking or-" Before Methirda could finish, a rider rode to their caravan.
"Commander Methirda! Commander Methirda! News from the capital!" The messenger came off his horse and run up to her giving her a message.
"Hmm... let's see what is so important to interrupt my hunt." Methirda said to herself and read the scroll. The message was short.
King and Hight Priest decided to summon Hero. Return to Capital Commander.
