Chapter 4 by ldnldn ldnldn

What's next?

Hinata rides the current

Her first thought as she surfaces from the water is an obvious one. Does she have hypothermia? Of course not, the water is lukewarm and the air hot. She is in a tropical jungle.

Still, better to get out of the river just in case. Little fishes swim around her legs. Poking, prodding, and nibbling on parts of her body that only people with the initials N.U. have permission to touch.

The current is too strong to fight. Hinata goes underwater and picks up a rock to help her escape the river somehow. She holds it in her mouth.

Back on the surface, Hinata sees that the river is forking. One side leads towards more rapids, and the other towards a waterfall. Fearing that the rapids will toss her around like a pinball, she swims towards the waterfall.

The waterfall drops into a scary cave. Hinata splashes into a small pond in the middle of a complex cave system. Wait, no. There are writings on the wall. This is the ancient temple with the scroll!

Hinata climbs out of the small lake and rests on the shore, lying down with her feet still on the water. She's exhausted after trekking across the jungle, fighting a bear, fleeing a swarm of bees, and falling from a waterfall. To top it all off, she is still naked, AND soaking wet.

Fearing the dreadful effect of Hypothermia once more, Hinata focused her chakra to warm up. She needs to be warm and dry. She makes several mental notes to remind herself of this fact.

Feeling sufficiently cozy, she begins to explore the temple. Crystals embedded on the wall give the place eerie lighting. Hinata tried to use the crystals to warm up, to little effect.
