Kari is the newest addition to the original digidestined team. Her positive attitude and strong faith in her team reflects the crest that she bears, which is the crest of light. This unique connection to the light is a double-edged sword; she is well-attuned to the forces of light but is also **** to attacks from the darkness.

Gatomon, unlike her partner, lived a scarred life. As the DigiEgg that Gennai failed to smuggle from an attack by the Dark Masters, Gatomon grew up looking for a partner and found the evil Myotismon instead. As his servant, Gatomon fought against the DigiDestined until Kari's kindness and Wizardmon's sacrifice ultimately led her to accepting her true calling and digivolving into the beautiful Angewomon.
