Here goes nothing.

As I talked to the professor, he spoke about my new abilities. Explaining how beast thought they were some sort of hard light constructs, Beast and the others agreed that the best way to get better with such abilities was to use them more often. I explained to the professor that I felt like there were two others I could have used, but after using the black power -which I was referring to Void- I explained how I was a bit worried about scaring others away, especially after what that Void power had done. The professor smiled softly too me and tried to help calm me gently, trying to assure me that I would be welcome here, that they had helped with people with dangerous powers before. Then came the dreaded question. "Jean tells me that you were concerned with telling her about one of your new abilities, I'm sure it can't be such a bad thing." I didn't know how to explain this exactly with words, so the professor offered to read my mind with permission.

When I agreed he slowly formed a connection to my mind, neither of us expecting to appear in a solid white void of a room with a single heavy security door in the way. "Zane? How... Did you gain telepathic powers?" I shook my head, hopefully looking as confused as I felt. I tried the door and it unlocked with ease, the professor began to move through the door, until we both heard a bestial growl and I started trying to lead him back into the room. The door closed as we got inside, just before something SMASHED against the door violently, a loud roar echoing from the other side as the professor and I returned back from my mind. "Zane... what was that?" I was shaking a bit as I looked up at the professor with worry. "I have no idea! I mean... I had felt like something had changed in my head, b-but I had no idea it was anything like that!" The professor called in Jean and Betsy, eventually they ended up with a trio of girls coming in behind Emma.

Miss Frost was looking at me with, Anger? Suspicion? I couldn't tell but that glare gave me made it clear she was upset to say the least. I found myself accused of hiding my powers, until Jean rounded on her. "Emma? Just stop talking... He only recently unlocked his powers, how is he supposed to know about them before using them?" I faded out of consciousness there, Jean verbally tearing into Emma as I found myself back in the white room. I was just thinking about going back into the room, and now I'm back here? I was standing there, wondering about this room, trying to figure out what it's purpose was. Then I felt a connection forming? Jean slowly appearing in the room, looking around with surprise. Betsy and Emma arriving around a minute later. "Okay, since we're all here now. Zane? The professor said something had tried to attack you two when you tried to leave the room. Do you have any idea what it was?" I shook my head no as I pointed out the door, sitting closer to the center of the room as I did as Beast had suggested and followed my instincts again.

What followed was the door opening on it's own as the room began to change, gaining colors and new shapes, a visible floor for one thing was quite helpful. Walls and a roof showing around me and the telepath's as I followed my instincts a bit more, not realizing I was changing how the place looked more and more. Well until Betsy called out to me. "Hey Zane? Are you doing this? The room feels more, stable, like it's becoming more of a fixed point. To think you can enter your own mind like this..." I explained how once again, I couldn't read other peoples minds, that I didn't seem to have any kind of psychic ability, at least it didn't feel like it. Jean explaining that Xavier agreed with that, sensing no such ability from my mind. With that established they started moving towards the door, a sudden growl echoing out from the doorway. Betsy stepped one foot outside only to immediately be attacked by something, a creature covered in green and yellow armor with razor sharp teeth, equally sharp looking bug like wings, Betsy quickly found out it had VERY enhanced strength as well. Emma and Jean moving to help her as I stared at the creature in shock, my mind seeming to tell me more and more about it as I looked at the creature. "STOP! GET BACK INSIDE! HURRY!" I called out to them, a look of fear on my face as Betsy created a weapon that sliced through the creature completely. Emma scoffing "Relax child, whatever it is it's de-" "GET BACK INSIDE! IT'S NOT ALONE!" I screamed out over here, all three turning to find the walls vanishing, turning dark as dozens of sets of eyes looked at them through a barely maintained field.

Jean moved fast enough to help pull the other two back to the room, only just making it inside as one of the creatures slammed against the door right as it shut. "There's... so many more out there than what you can see..." My voice was shaking, in the moment I had seen that creature my mind had helped me understand more about them. I moved carefully towards the wall next to the door, willing a one way window into place, allowing all of us to see outside. Light seemed to come back to the formally dark area outside the door, Jean, Emma and Betsy looking out with shock. 1, 4, 8, 15, 27, 53, the more they counted it's like the more appeared, hundreds of them outside the door, even more flying about in the sky above and all practically frothing at the mouth as they watched the door. "It's... a defensive measure, my power must have unlocked it but... I have NO idea how to control it yet. Their wings alone are sharp, enough to slice through solid steel, they can mutate to gain additional speed or power as needed, they seem to have a fire breath weapon, but each of them have also have-" The one that Betsy had sliced in half suddenly exploded in fire, burning everything around it, the other creatures having pulled back away from the body before it had blown. "Self detonation, a last resort to **** out anyone attempting to break in..." Emma looked more than a little concerned, neither Betsy or Jean looking terribly happy with the news in fact. "Zane? How did you know that?" I gulped as I tried to answer carefully. "It's my mind right? I tried to focus on what my mind could tell me about them and the information just... appeared. This is like an advance **** too, they replicate incredibly fast, I feel like they can be really useful once I'm stronger too. For now though... I don't have a way of getting us further in, not safely at least... There's THOUSANDS more just waiting behind this group as well." I explained, shaking a bit as a big couch and several comfy chairs appeared in the room before taking a seat.

"So you can't control them? You make it sound like you might be able too with enough time though." Betsy spoke out this time, I could only nod my head. Then Emma asked I question I had hoped she wouldn't. "These creatures, do they have a name?" I froze as the name appeared in my mind again, giving them this last answer before asking if I could speak to the professor alone, to explain whatever else I could at least. Then I gave them the response they wanted."I don't know where they're from, I only know they see outside forces as hostile, that I can go deeper without any danger from them and that..."
