You take an apprehensive look at the portal and hesitate. Stepping through this portal again probably means committing yourself to be a servant to that demon for as long as he still wants you.

You're still unsure when the decision is made for you. Several seconds of indecisiveness and the portal suddenly blinks out of existence. You take a step towards the empty space where the portal was just a moment ago. Another portal appears in the exact same spot, but this one has a sickly green appearance instead. You are still dumbfounded by what's going on that you don't even move as a creature with three sets of bat-like wings soars through the new portal and collides with you.

You are knocked completely prone, send tumbling on your back and nearly hitting your head on the stone platform on which you were standing. The creature stops only briefly enough to spit out a nasally "Watch where you're going, slut!" in your general direction before flying off down the street.

You slowly collect yourself again, eventually getting back on your feet but this time more aware of the bustle around you. You make a slow turn around to take in your surroundings. This portal nexus you are standing in front of seems to be at the intersection of two wide streets. You could go in any of these four directions freely. Each of the streets is lined with all types and sizes of buildings, from tiny cottage-style shops to massive structures made with materials unfamiliar to you and larger than you've ever seen before. Directly forward from the portal, one building away from the corner, is the strange **** market that Mar'aath had just visited with you.

It might be worth your time to explore one of these streets or investigate some of the shops or other buildings in the area.
