Jump through a random portal

The way these portals flicker in and out of existence within seconds tells you they must connect with a different place or maybe even plane of existence every time. Every time a new one appears, some entirely new fantastical creature pops out, and they must not all be coming from the same place.

You stand in front of the ethereal portals, wide-eyed at those who are entering and exiting. As the next one opens up, a muscular man whose body is that of a snake's below where his navel should be slithers by from behind you and disappears into the cloudy swirl. The portal closes and another one opens immediately, letting through a massive floating jellyfish. The next portal lets through a quadrupedal creature whose skin looks like old, worn tree bark and takes steps on four large, uprooted tree stumps instead of feet.

Seeing such fantastical beings come and go eventually makes you realize that there's a possibility your previous captor could come back and look for you. This replaces your apprehension that kept you frozen in place upon every portal opening with a foolhardy determination to get away from here as soon as possible.

With a deep breath you ready yourself. The next time a portal opens you waste no time and sprint straight into it.
