Will she come in for a drink?
Hell no!
A drink, alone, with a guy that she'd just met for the first time in years, who had openly leered at her, and who she knew her boyfriend despised? No chance.
"No can do, I've still got a TON of deliveries left to make," Jenna lied, without a shred of guilt.
"Damn, that's a shame," Tommy replied, sounding genuinely disappointed, "maybe some other time, eh?"
"Yeah, maybe," Jenna shrugged, already turning to walk away back down his cracked and crooked pathway. She was certain that he was ogling her ass in her figure hugging skinny jeans, but she didn't care enough to turn around and tell him off. Better to just let him look and get out of here quicker.
"And tell Pipsqueak I said hi!" He called after her just before she reached the postbox.
"Mmhmm," Jenna answered, still intent not to give him the time of day and refusing to let him insulting David get to her. As she walked away, parallel to his front yard, she swore she could feel Tommy's eyes following her every step. Suddenly, she became aware of how every part of her body bounced or flexed just from the simple motion of putting one foot in front of the other. Folding her arms across her buxom chest, she redoubled her pace, wishing she had something to hold over her ass as well.
Finally, she heard Tommy's front door close from somewhere behind her, and her body language eased again. For the final few steps to her car she chided herself for worrying too much. She had no idea if Tommy really had been looking at her the whole time, maybe he had just been putting his package down before closing the front door. It wouldn't be the first time she'd gotten herself worked up over nothing.
As she closed her car door behind herself and put her seatbelt back on, she succeeded in convincing herself that she had just been imaging things. No way he would have wasted so much time staring at her, she was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, not a irresistible bikini or something. As for him looking at her when she'd stood in his doorway, he was just being curious. Hell, she'd looked him over too, more than she should have.
When her hands wrapped around the soft, thick, leather of the steering wheel, she remembered the bulge she'd seen in his sweatpants. A gentle blush pinkened her cheeks before she could pinch herself on the arm. She didn't know if Tommy had perved on her, but she absolutely knew that she shouldn't perv on him.
To keep her mind out of the gutter she switched to keeping her eyes on the road. Pulling out from where she parked, she drove off towards home, by way of the supermarket. Already, she was replacing ideas of Tommy's sausage and being leered at like a piece of meat with thoughts about literal sausage and meat.
The trip to the store went by quickly, thankfully with no familiar faces popping up, and Jenna soon found herself at home. The rest of the afternoon passed by much like the prior ones had, until it was suddenly time for her to start cooking dinner. The sizzling of the pan and the boiling of the pot on the stove were quieter this time, so she heard as soon as David crept the front door open.
"Welcome home, honey," she shouted, preempting him before he could startle her again. Knowing he was rumbled, he walked normally into the kitchen, rather than sneaking in or throwing the door open. Arms snaked around Jenna's waist from behind as David warmly embraced her
"Hi babe," he sighed, his lips brushing against her cheek, "how was your first day?"
"It was great! I wasn't late, everything went off fine, and I even finished early. We can talk more about it while we eat, go get changed, dinner is nearly ready."
"You're such a good housewife," David laughed, kissing her again before stepping away and grabbing plates and cutlery. "You don't have to do everything by yourself, y'know?" He set the plates beside her to serve dinner, before hurriedly setting the table. Only once that was done did he head to the bedroom to change into something more comfortable, leaving it so Jenna only had to plate up.
By the time he came back, she had laid both of their plates of curry and rice down on the table, and poured David a cold glass of water.
"How was your day, David?" She beat him to the punch again. She knew that once she got started talking about her fun first day she probably wouldn't stop, so it would be good to let David speak first.
"Same old, same old," He smiled, burying his fork into his food, "but I know you're dying to talk about yours, so go on. Tell me all about it."
Jenna did just that. In between forkfuls of chicken and rice, she exposited in length about the entirety of her day, from showing up early, to cruising around town making deliveries, even to the crazy cat lady she delivered about a dozen boxes of cat toys to.
"How did you know they were cat toys?" David asked.
"Because she insisted on telling me what each one was," Jenna explained, before continuing in an old woman voice; "this one is a laser pointer, and this is a feather tickler for them to chase, and this is a mini scratching post, and this one is a ball on a bouncy string!"
"Wow," her boyfriend laughed, "Did you meet anyone else interesting?"
The question made Jenna's blood run cold, and she focused on shoveling another forkful of food into her mouth before proving her boyfriend with an answer.
Does she tell David who else she met?
