"How the heck do you know that?" you ask.

Delphi sits down on the top of your head. "Yeah, buddy. That's suspicious."

"Do you want to know, or do you not?" he repeats.

"We should hear this information, even if it's coming from a suspicious place," Snow suggests.

"All right. I don't know how you got all this information, but let's hear it," you command.

For this guy to know... He has to either be working for Sa'dis, or a powerful enemy of Sa'dis. Surely he wouldn't tell us if they were allies, right? But who is powerful enough to oppose a so-called demon king? I need to think.

"Sa'dis is a powerful man alone, but much of what makes him threatening are his allies. First, there is Flame General Ithic, a devil who himself leads a small army of minor devils. He's a brutal warrior that shows no mercy. Next, there is Mistress Catherine the Vampire Queen. Not only is she a deadly vampire herself, but she has even more under her control. How Sa'dis was able to ally himself with such incredible people is beyond me. Perhaps they're all in it for their own gain, or he promised them something grand."

"We met both of them already," you say.

"Interesting. I heard it might be true, but for you to meet both and survive... Anyhow, there is one more. A sunheart spymaster operates directly under his control. I'm afraid I don't know her name, but she operates under the a few different code names, with the most used being Lynx."

"A what?" Niki replies beneath her breath.

"And of course there are others that serve him, though I wouldn't call them generals. Monsters like goblins. Things like that. Oh, and there once was Mistress Dajy the high succubus and a team of her own, though they mysteriously disappeared." His eyes glance to Snow and then back to you.

Four powerful individuals under Sa'dis, and one down. Damn. I came here wanting to be a hero, like in an isekai. One that slays the demon king and wins the girl. But now that I'm here, I've realized how terrifying it actually can be. These people are deadly. I could die! I beat Dajy out of pure luck. How am I going to take down an ancient vampire woman, a warrior from Hell, and a spymaster nobody even knows anything about?

"You look deep in thought," William says.

The only people I know of that could be strong enough to oppose Sa'dis are the ones that made me the way I am. People with the power to pierce through space and reach Earth. People who figured out how to customize classes.

"Who do you work for then?" you ask bluntly.

He pulls his right hand back out of his coat and readjusts his glasses. "I don't work for anybody. Just like you. But we both have our allies, Warren. You'll meet them one day, but I promise you that I'm not on the side of Sa'dis. I would rather see him taken down. Perhaps when the time comes, we can work together to accomplish this feat. I'm quite skilled with a blade. But for now, I have things I need to do. It was good meeting you. Have a safe trip back home, everybody."

William walks around your group, and begins making his way towards the gates of the city. You aren't sure what else to say, or if he would even answer anymore questions. Your party just watches him go--confused and surprised, though none are more shocked than you are.
