Heading home
The two weeks that you were in the hospital recovering were a pain and a drag on your mental health, that was a given, especially as Nicollete made good on her promise that your father would be taken out of your life. Your friends Chris and Danielle kept you company in the hospital as much as they could and plowed you with information from the community about the accident. You took it in stride, learning how to adjust to people's understanding of your living situation now.
On the day of discharge, Saunders and Kelly had made an appearance together to go over the NDA one last time and to ask if you had any questions or concerns. You had long since given up trying to ask them for information on your father, realizing that even if they did know anything, they were ethically bound not to disclose that information to you. Instead, you just shook their hands respectively to thank them for taking good care of you and then, for good measure, you gave Nurse Juanita a warm hug. You said, in a most sincere way, that you were going to miss her. She in turn told you, in no uncertain terms, that she didn't want to see you again in her ward.
The Uber lift was a quiet one as you tuned out any sort of conversation until you arrived back at your home, realizing that you were now living a bachelor life at the tender age of 18. The house was paid off, your bank account held enough funds to carry you over for the year comfortably, and you were now trying to figure out how you were going to be living on your own.
At least that is what you thought as you glanced down the driveway at the sound of a car turning off the road and approaching you. It wasn't one that you had seen before and as it came to a stop and the people inside stepped out and approached you, you just continued to look puzzled.
"Can I help you?"

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
