Head of Household

Over the next few months, Antoine integrating himself more and more as Douglas purportedly prepared for trial and withdrew more and more. Antoine was downstairs, playing with the two infants. Elizabeth rubbed her belly, feeling the baby kick.

Aaron was a talkative toddler, but Emily was slow to talk. Elizabeth and Douglas had tried to be patient with it. She'd called Elizabeth 'mama' but yet to call Douglas 'dada'. She looked over at Antoine playing peekaboo with Emily. Antoine opened his hands, causing Emily to squeal with delight.

"Dada!" she cried. Antoine was taken aback for a moment, and then took her into a large hug. Elizabeth's heart melted. This bull of a man was becoming the head of her household.
