Chapter 21

What do you do?
Head home to your wife and daughter.
That's enough risk for one day. You could wait for the second person to leave but who knows how long that could be. You're already running late. Cautiously, you slide out of the door to the men's locker room, making sure that it shuts quietly behind you. Feeling like some sort of stealthy character in a videogame, you sneak down the hallway towards the lobby.
Hiding around a corner, you peer out into the mostly empty area. Jan is loitering maybe a hundred feet away from you. She looks conflicted as she paces back and forth. Now you know that it's Hana still in the women's locker room so you aren't too concerned about being caught from behind. Still, you'd rather get out of here without interacting with Jan, especially after you overheard her concerns about you. You glance at your watch. Fuck...
The opportunity presents itself. Jan turns her back and you tiptoe past her. You almost want to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. You're out the door in a flash, unnoticed. Luck sure does seem to be on your side these days. Jogging towards your car, you fully intend to rush home.
You pull into the driveway at 7:15. It's quite a bit later than you said you'd be home yesterday. You make sure that real time updates are off before opening the door. Sure enough, your wife and daughter are sitting at the table waiting for you. Ava instantly jumps up and heads in your direction. Natalie, however, is sulking in her chair.
Ava jumps into your arms and gives you a big hug, "Daddy! How'd it go? I want to hear all about it!"
You give her a squeeze back and let your daughter go. She gives you a quick peck on the cheek before returning to her chair.
Taking your place at the head of the table, you sigh and answer, "Well, I'm worn out but I suppose that's a good thing. Sorry about showing up this late. Things took longer than I expected."
Natalie scoffs and says, "Ava insisted that we wait. Dinner is in the oven staying warm."
Your wife gets up and heads into the kitchen.
Ava leans in your direction and whispers, "She is not happy about you being late. But don't worry, Daddy, I'll wait for you to get home from now on. You shouldn't have to eat alone."
You reach out and squeeze her hand. Natalie returns with the food, pasta by the looks of it, and places it in the middle of the table. The three of you take turns serving your plates. There's a quiet tension in the air. Natalie wont even look at you.
Ava gives you a mischievous little look before casually asking, "So, Daddy, tell us about your workout. Hana wasn't too tough on you, was she?"
Natalie perks up and says, "Who's Hana?"
Ava answers for you, "She works with Dad and convinced him to start going to the gym with her. She's his, you know, work wife."
Your heart skips a beat at your daughter's words. What was she doing? You didn't give her permission to tell Natalie about Hana. Seems like Ava is taking things into her own hands.
The color drains from Natalie's face and she lets out a barely audible, "Oh..."
Ava smiles and continues like nothing is wrong but there's a spark in her eye, "Hana sounds really cool. Dad, maybe she could tag along with us Friday night?"
Natalie seems really focused on her food. She's probably wondering what Ava has told you, whether or not her secret has been discovered. You can almost see her trying to fight looking guilty.
You answer, "Umm... I suppose that I could ask her. I kind of thought it was just going to be the two of us."
Ava shrugs, "The more the merrier, right? Mom, I'd ask you to come too but I know that you've got... other plans."
Your daughter is having a little too much fun with this. Sure, you love seeing Natalie squirm but Ava seems to be relishing in it. You wonder if she's been able to snoop through your wife's phone.
Natalie stammers, "Erm... yeah... maybe... maybe some other time."
A little too enthusiastically, Ava says, "Maybe we could invite Hana over for dinner sometime?"
Wanting to put an end to this for now, you ignore the suggestion and change the topic of conversation, "So, I talked to Grace about who all is coming for graduation. She said it's going to be her and Chloe along with my parents."
Natalie, seeming relieved, jumps into the new conversation, "Are they staying the night?"
"Sounds like it. Maybe more than one night."
"We'll have to figure out the sleeping situation with my mother here as well."
With a smirk on your face, you comment, "We'll make it work."
Natalie frowns, "Does Chloe really need to come?"
Your wife isn't fond of your niece and feels like she's a bad influence on Ava. To be fair, Chloe has been a troublemaker her entire life. Probably a result of significant Daddy issues. It's not her fault that her father is a deadbeat. Some of that frustration inevitably gets directed your way whenever you're around your family.
Your daughter jumps in to defend her cousin, "But I want her here, Mom!"
"I know you do but you know how Chloe is... She'll do something stupid... Ruin things..."
Ava laughs, "What could she possibly do?"
"Well I'd rather not find out."
"It's my graduation and I say that she can come!"
Ava looks at you for backup.
You give your wife a sympathetic smile and say, "I'll keep an eye on her."
Natalie rolls her eyes and concedes defeat, turning her attention back to her food. You and Ava talk a bit more about your days. To your surprise, she didn't exercise after school. Natalie finishes her meal silently and excuses herself from the table.
When Ava is done, she stands up and says, "Well, I've got homework to do. I'll be in my room."
She leans down and kisses you on the cheek. Her lips linger for a moment which sends a chill down your spine.
She whispers low enough so that her mother in the next room can't hear, "Don't forget to come say goodnight."
Gulping nervously, you watch as your daughter gives you a playful smile, twirls, and exits the room. You help Natalie clear the table before heading for your office to unwind and gather your thoughts. Now alone, you think about how to proceed. First, you pull up the favorites page and check all scores.

You recline back and think about your scores and the best ways to raise them. There are currently five women that you have favorited. Each one of them is an entirely unique situation.
Natalie's affection score went up only one point at dinner. That kind of makes sense. The awkwardness level was off the charts for her. Before you go to sleep, you need to figure out a thing or two that you can do to raise them a bit. You don't want to confront her over the Greg thing until you have proof. Until then, you'll just be nice to her and try to make progress. Your wife is still very beautiful and you'd love to get back to a point where the two of you are intimate again. This is, of course, assuming that you can forgive her if she is in fact cheating on you. Let's be real, the odds aren't looking good. That's a huge decision you'd rather not think about for now.
Ava's scores rose in each of the three categories. Your stomach does cartwheels at the thought of possibilities that might present themselves. While you don't want to do anything overt, you've accepted the fact that you will try to pursue a sexual relationship with her. God... that's a heavy topic to think about. If her scores continue to rise, will she initiate things? You don't know if you have it in you to be the one pushing for a new intimate side to your father/daughter relationship.
Hana's scores just make you smile when you look at them. You might be able to max her Affection score tomorrow. What would happen when you do that? You love Ava's suggestion that Hana tag along on Friday night. Another opportunity to raise her scores is always a good thing. You hope that you didn't freak her out too much after the whole locker room incident earlier.
Jan is the long term project. It's gonna take a little while but you've made decent progress. You need to be careful around her until her scores are at least in the positive. She could really get in the way if you aren't smart. One thing that you'd love to see is a point or two in either the love or lust category. You make yourself a note to remind yourself to grab coffee for her in the morning.
Your sister, Grace, is listed but doesn't have scores. Perhaps you need to interact with her in person before they show up? You're very interested to see how she feels about you. The two of you have never been super close but you're confident that she doesn't hate you. You're unsure if you want to pursue anything other than a wholesome brother/sister relationship with her. Sure, she's relatively good looking. You can see that. You're not blind. But... she's your sister and you've never really thought about her in that way. Then again, you're lusting over your own daughter at this point so maybe things will change when Grace comes to visit.
As far as people that aren't listed yet, there are three that stand out. You're sure that you'll add them all to the favorites list shortly.
First, there's Chloe. While you're unsure about her mother, your sister Grace, you definitely know what you want when it comes to your niece. Known for wearing less than modest clothing to family gatherings, you've had more than an impure thought or two about the troublesome blonde. How could you not? The girl knows that she looks good and uses it to her advantage. You'll have to be careful with her. She's unlikely to have a favorable opinion of you as a starting point. If you try to go too fast with her, things could blow up in your face.
Next, there's Hana's sister Ayame. You don't know a whole lot about her yet. Hell, you don't even know what she looks like. Maybe you're at the point where it wont be weird if you ask Hana to show you a picture? If her older sister is any indication, she's sure to be very pretty. You'll have to find a way to interact with her. In order to get the Sato sisters to move in with you, you'll have to develop at least a pleasant relationship with Ayame. They seem like a package deal.
Finally, there's your mother in law, Elise. The question isn't whether or not her score will be bad, it's how bad will it be. You almost expect her to hate you more than anyone. Things are going to be weird with her around but you welcome the opportunity. At the very least, it would be nice to build a respectful relationship with her. She's decent looking for an older woman but honestly you have better options. However, should the Affection Multiplier allow it, you wouldn't pass up the chance to let out years of frustration by fucking your mother in law into submission.
Well, there's your Mom and Dad too. Them being in the house will make things even more difficult. You'll take the opportunity to raise their affection scores happily. You've never had a sexual thought about your mother but who knows... stranger things have happened. The app is living proof of that.
Realizing that you've been zoned out for an extended period of time, you get to your feet and head for Ava's room.
