Chapter 19 by thewolfby thewolfby

What's next?

Head back to the facility

It’s afternoon by the time you make it back to the facility, but it’s not like you can walk right in. It’s underneath a large, glitzy hotel with a secret entrance only a few of the staff know about. Still, you used to work there so you’re familiar enough with the layouts and processes. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a way in.

As you climb the few steps to the hotel entrance, you breathe deeply. If you fail, this may be the last fresh air you get for a while, not to mention your last bit of freedom.

You enter the hotel and head to the bar tucked away in a corner of a grand lobby. You can order a drink while you scope the place out. You also need to make sure people don’t recognize you. You’ve done as much as possible to change your appearance, but one of the long-timers could sniff you out pretty easily.

The bartender is a friendly girl with curly hair and a beaming smile. She’s having a slow day, but it is only early afternoon and there are only a few other customers.

“Welcome,” she beams. “What can I get for you?”

“Something fancy and non-alcoholic,” you reply. You feel like a drink but know you want to stay as clear-headed as possible.

You sip your pineapple-matcha mocktail from a ten-inch glass as you watch the entrance to a VIP lounge in the corner across the lobby from you. That’s where you need to go. Behind the door there’s a front desk to check peoples’ VIP status and then there’s another door within that’s guarded on the other side by facility staff.

Within a few minutes a man in a fancy suit and slicked-back hair takes a seat beside you. He’s texting something on his phone. He puts it down and sighs.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t see you sitting there,” he says, obviously lying.

“That’s OK,” you say, hoping to shit the conversation down quickly. He does not take the hint.

“That’s a fancy drink, are you celebrating something?” he asks.

“Freedom,” you say.

“Ah, newly single. Congratulations,” he says as his eyes light up. “I am Gaston. I am supposed to meet one of my suppliers here but he canceled. But I am more powerful than him. I will cancel his contracts.”

He wants you to know he’s rich and important. You wonder if he’s a “very important person.”

You see the bartender looking at you to see if you want her to intervene. You wave her off for the time being. Gaston continues to try to pick you up while a very loud bachelorette party enters the bar area. There are only five of them but at least three are talking at any given moment. They’re very excited and you can make out some of the words. They appear to be here as customers of the facility. You’d often rent male slaves for parties and pretty much know the drill. Part of you – the part that didn’t know who you were – wonders if you would have been the **** they have lined up for their event.

Gaston orders a drink and pulls out a VIP card to pay. You pretend not to notice and think about your next move. You could try to use this guy to get into the VIP lounge. You could also try to crash the bachelorette party to see if you could find a way in through them. Or you could ignore both and strike up a conversation with the bartender.
