He won’t write the ticket… but solicitation and bribery are crimes too.

Jack flicked his body cam back on. “Alright. Stand up.”

Eliza was stiff and she stumbled as she stood.

“Hands on the car.”

“What!?”

“Speeding is one thing, but bribery of an officer of the state and solicitation are quite another. Hands on the car.”

“No please! You said–”

“--I said nothing. You said you’d blow me in exchange for a warning and then got out of your car of your own volition. I said I wouldn’t get in your car and you took that as an invitation to kneel. What you just did is a much more serious crime.” He rested his hand on his gun. “So put your hands on the vehicle.”

Eliza started crying as she complied. He began reciting the familiar script while cuffing her.

He pulled her up off the car “... and you have the right to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future.”

Eliza was led to the back seat of his patrol car. She opened her mouth to beg further, but he slammed the door in her face.

Jack got in the front seat and radioed back to station. “Hey homebase, I’m bringing in a girl on solicitation. I’ll need a cell ready and for someone to come get her car.” The voice crackled back “Roger” as he turned the key. He glanced back at the crying girl in his back seat and grinned.
