He takes the bait

The man crouches down fully next to Lux. One big hand cups her chin, while the other roves down her body. Lux lets out a low, submissive moan that comes just a little too naturally. She feels a shudder go through her – of fear, of adrenaline, and a certain amount of arousal. Maybe she got into character a little too much there, or awakened fantasies she’s never admitted to herself. If she can’t get control of this situation quickly…

Seeming to reach a decision, the guard stands up and steps back. In a few quick strides, he crosses the room to the doorway, and checks that the coast is clear before sliding the door firmly closed – making sure no sound gets out. Then he moves back over towards Lux, unfastening his heavy cloak and casting it aside as he goes. He’s practically trembling with anticipation as he reaches down towards her.

Lux holds her breath, wondering what he has in mind. But – as she’d hoped – in his eagerness he fails to think through what he’s doing. He hurriedly unfastens her shackles.

Wasting no time, Lux kicks his legs out from under him and elbows him under his ribs on the way down. Winded and flailing, he’s helpless to stop her from latching the shackles around his wrists and chaining him to the same fixture she was bound to.
