He makes changes to his lifestyle

From the observations he has made, he noted he had a variety of powers, mind control, time alteration, reality warping. This could be the change he needs in his life.

From what he has down so far, he could see being a God had many benefits. You can rewind time, change minds, or in James' case, alter all of reality. He had multiple notebooks of all the wishes and desires that he wanted to make come true if he ever gained the power to do so. Now that he had this power, he would ensure his dreams would become a reality.

He was formerly a student who studied law at a no named college. However, he wasn't very good at his degree, whether it be his lack of enthusiasm or his unfocused mind that were distracted by a variety of problems. It looked like he wasn't going to pass his degree as he intended to and he would end dropping out of university.

However, he had a wish that he would have the best degree possible. Therefore, he willed himself into becoming a prodigy. Not only did he graduate in his law degree, he graduated at Cambridge University with first class honours as well as with a master's. He also was considering applying to do a psychology degree there as well. Now, he has a master's degree in Law with Psychology.

This wasn't the true extent of his powers and he know it isn't, however, he thought he could start small and work his way up. Full indulgence can be very boring, very quickly.

First, he made sure that he moved out of his parent's home as he knew he would want to be more independent. However, he didn't want to erase the hard work his parents had done for him so he ensured that they were retired from their jobs and were living comfortably with the businesses they owned. His parents also didn't bothered him as they were living abroad. They weren't necessary for his lifestyle so he imagined them touring around the world, not needing to contact him at all.

He also was decently rich, working at a decent but fairly small law firm, working under his female boss for the time being. His boss was friendly but ultimately saw him as an employee. He was the only male working for this company.

As for him, he lived in a nice household, that had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. He lived with 3 other women and for the most part, they got along nicely with him. However, they were never around the house for very long and they would often coop up in their rooms when they were there.

Still, he did accomplish quite a bit on his to do list, so that was something.

The next thing to do on this list was rekindling with his ex-girlfriend.
