He learns why Beldia is here.

"Well, the thing is... Your presence here is causing us some problems," Kazuma told Beldia.

"Oh? How so? I would have assumed my presence, however temporary, would have been more or less welcome, given that I keep most of the monsters in line just by being here," Beldia remarked. "Though that wasn't the main goal, I wouldn't consider that bad for your town."

"Perhaps it's overall good for Axel Town... In the short term," Kazuma stated. "While it means far less trouble, it also means that many starting adventurers... Don't exactly have the means to advance out of being beginners. Quests that even a novice can do have essentially dried up. And many of the novices got themselves killed when they got **** enough to try a quest beyond their capabilities. Basically, whichever strong adventurers we have, are the ones we're stuck with, we ain't getting anymore until you're gone."

"I see, so you intend to ask me to wrap up my investigation, and leave? It would be dishonorable of me to deny fledglings the chance to grow powerful enough to challenge me, and I would not mind returning home, but I have no interest in reporting failure to the Devil King," Beldia mused. "I must bring back the information he seeks, or die... again, trying, on my oath of fealty to him. Unfortunately, that information eludes me."

"Information?" Kazuma blinked.

"Yes, our diviner was ranting about a powerful holy light descending upon Axel Town," Beldia replied. "Several weeks ago as a matter of fact. My liege has ordered me to investigate, find out what has the diviner so agitated, and report back. My undead bird scouts have found nothing of interest to my liege however. How vexing..."

'Wait a second... Holy light... Axel Town... A few weeks ago? Isn't that when Aqua and I were sent down into this world!?' Kazuma thought, turning a look towards the now slightly panicking Aqua, seeing that she had come to the same conclusion. '...well, shit!'
