"What kind of beer do you like?" Brad asked.

"Cold." Daphne grabbed the remote and turned on the TV to channel surf. Brad quickly retrieved two bottles of beer and sat down next to her.

"So," he said nervously, "what should I call you?"

Daphne took a long pull of her beer and made a face. "I guess technically I'm Daphne, but that's such a girly name. How about D?"

"D it is," Brad asked. "So are you, like, a guy in a girl's body or something?"

D shrugged. "Not exactly. It's more like I'm house-sitting for you, but the house is this body. Hey, check it out, Robocop is on!"

Daphne leaned forward excitedly and took another swig of beer. Brad decided to go with the flow and watch it with her. Monica was still in the other room, waiting for her cue to enter, but he wanted to get to know D a little better first.

"Yeah," Brad laughed. He was starting to enjoy the easy dorm room chemistry he had with D. "Imagine if they tried to do a scene like this today."
